Boehner: Obamacare is 'Law of the Land' 08 Nov 2012 By Todd Beamon
House Speaker John Boehner said on Thursday that Obamacare was the law of the land apparently conceding that GOP efforts to repeal President Barack Obamas healthcare law have ended.
Boehner, the nations top elected Republican, hinted in an interview with ABC News that Congress would not undertake efforts to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
The election changes that, Boehner responded to a question about whether Congress would undertake repeal efforts next year. It's pretty clear that the president was re-elected. Obamacare is the law of the land.

I think there are parts of the healthcare law that are going to be very difficult to implement, he added. And very expensive. And as the time when we're trying to find a way to create a path toward a balanced budget, everything has to be on the table.
When asked whether GOP legislators would spend time working to repeal Obamacare, Boehner reiterated: There certainly may be parts of it that we believe need to be changed. We may do that. No decisions at this point.
But Kevin Smith, a Boehner spokesman, sought to clarify the speakers remarks later on Thursday.
"While Obamacare is the law of the land, it is costing us jobs and threatening our health care," Smith told NBC News. "Speaker Boehner and House Republicans remain committed to repealing the law, and he said in the interview it would be on the table."
The Supreme Court's controversial 5-4 ruling in June in which Chief Justice John Roberts changed his position to side the with courts liberal wing to uphold the laws constitutionality disarmed conservatives of one of their.. ....

And Obamacare yea shall have!
Good luck to all those millions of workers who will now become part-time employees. At least you will have some job for those who will be laid off.
The thing is ObamaKKKare won't work in any fashion without maintenance of extreme penalties for non-compliance.
Another thing it needs is a serious federal government subsidy.
Easy enough to propose repeal of all penalties for noncompliance AND simply not budget funds for personnel or facilities to implement and manage it.
The House has to be willing to let some of the beneficiaries suffer and die so we can pass legislation that will save all of us from the punishments the Democrats plan to inflict on us through ObamaKKKare.
It’s simple. The House should NOT fund Obamacare. ALL funding starts in the House. Don’t pass it. So be it. Elections have consequences.
The sad fact is that almost everyone in Washington, D.C. wanted this. Republicans as well as democrats.
It is still unpopular and you have these options, among others:
Roll over and play dead is not a viable option. There is a reason the GOP still has a House majority for now. If you can't help, then get the hell out of the way and let somebody else lead.
Boehner is such a spineless eunuch.
STOLEN ELECTIONS... NOT JUST THE PRESIDENCY....
Massive vote fraud on a large scale....
We had to pass that bill to read that bill. It is not the law of land.
What do you think Boehner and the house republicans can do?
The GOP does not have a 2/3 majority that would be required to overcome the guaranteed veto of any repeal they might manage to pass. And even if they did, the GOP doesn’t even have a majority in the senate, let alone the 60 votes needed to overcome a democrat filibuster or the 2/3 needed to override the still equally GUARANTEED veto from obama. Any attempt to repeal obamacare is dead in the water before it even gets into the water.
Exactly what is in their Constitutional power: defund it. They alone can originate budgets.
REPLACE THE SPEAKER!!
Yup. Pretty much sums it up.
And Boehner is right, after all. This election really was the last chance to stop the national suicide that Obamacare is about to wreak. Well, that and two supreme court justices.
Better that Boehner step down than America to step down
Was everybody asleep when the Screw Deal happened? We abandoned adherence to the Constitution at least 80 years ago.
Already part time by agreement with my employer.
Going GALT!
No he is not. He is exactly what this corrupt "Two-Party Cartel" has enacted. He keeps his job by doing the work for the elites that own him. He comes from a safe district. He gets all the perks & poops on the constituents. The (R)s redistrict Allen West & sent him out to loose because he didn't comply with these elites & was becoming too strong.
Welcome to the party, pal.
The Beginning of the End was allowing Executive Branch agencies to write laws.
This isn't the beginning, this is the end.
Why is there not a Paul Ryan for Speaker movement?
