In the spirit of this thread:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2957539/posts
... I am doing this one, small thing ...
Whenever there is a financial transaction in my life, I insert 'soft language' about the election:
Example: When cancelling a service, I respond calmly and dispassionately when they ask:
"Due to my personal budget, I can't afford this service anymore. In light of the current election, I need to prepare for financial uncertainty."
Another: Buying an item in a store ... salesperson tries to up-sell me on another item, again I say:
"Thank you for the recommendation. However, due to the current election, I can't risk the extra cost in my personal finances/budget."
That's it. Simple and sweet. Not ANOTHER word. Always be courteous. If they push back or argue ("get in their faces" tactic), DO NOT take the bait. Just be a lady or gentleman, smile and excuse yourself.
Thoughts? This a great way to indirectly exclaim "elections have consequences".
Good idea.
There is no need to justify or explain your choice. There is power in keeping your reasoning to yourself.
I think we should march on Washington
We did. Nothing happened. We need to fight with our dollars...that is the ONLY power we have left.
Short Message, then silence is what I recommend.
We did. Nothing happened. We need to fight with our dollars...that is the ONLY power we have left.
I’m doing this with almost EVERY donation request we receive...and, this is the time of year they’re being mailed out. Also doing this with each catalogue I receive (well, except the guns and ammo ones)...to remove my name from their mailing list, due to the election I won’t be able to afford anything in their catalogue, any longer.
That’s fine with me, but I only expect results from the ‘dollar’ option. Washington ALWAYS ignores us...always. See: ObamaCare.
No, no no. Just let them keep mailing them. They are expensive to mail. What they really want is your email address because that is free for now. I just went thru a bunch of the steady emails I get and unsubscribed.
In this case, there just might be more power in these kind of responses.
I didn’t say we should have a nice polite picnic by the reflecting pool like we did before.
I said I thought we should march on Washington. With righteous anger and intent. I’m not advocating violence but none of us seem willing to cause offense or heck even let them know we value our freedom.
I was at walmart today. I inspected everything I bought to make sure it didn’t come from a blue state. It did not take that long....I saw “SouthPaw” beer but upon inspection, it came from Wisconsin or somewhere like that. I put that crap back on the shelf.
We weren't armed, and we weren't prepared to forcibly drive them out (or decorate lamp-posts).
But then again, I think we should expose them for the traitors they are; we could force their hand on the immigration issue:
-- have the governors declare states of invasion, summon the militia to militarily secure the border (a dissent in the Arizona v. United States case said that's the only sovereignty left to states).
-- demand federal government support via Art 4, Sec 4
-- if the fed-gov refuses, or more likely tries to declare such actions void, pursue them with Treason charges (issuing warrants for the arrests of those complicit)
-- optional: offer money rewards for their capture.
we have done this already with our cable TV (good riddance!) and our most of our magazine and newspaper subscriptions.
Wonder what it would be like if we could get some conservative stamps made up and just start stamping it on every bill we use . Stop using debit cards and go paper.
I plan to do the same. We are inundated with calls from the fire and police auxiliaries, they are relentless. From now on they get zilch.
Interestingly, in Wisconsin, local elections went strongly Republican.
Why? The corrupt media won’t cover it. And if they did, those who participated in the march would be vilified as extreme radicals or labeled with some other moniker that makes them look like psychotic loons. If 50,000 marched the media would say a few dozen hicks and hayseeds showed up. It would be a total waste of time and probably do more harm then good.
