I Do NOT Believe Our Country Is Trending Significantly Leftward and Here's Why (Part II)
Vocal Minority ^ | 11/8/12 | EricTheRed

A lot of people are responding to my post here, at Free Republic, and on Facebook. Most disagree with my thesis laid out in Part I but here we go with Part II:

Colorado: Obama lost 3.9% of his 2008 voters while Romney got 4.8% more votes than McCain, which means Obama won Colorado by a smaller margin (51.2% to 46.5%) than in '08 (53.7% to 44.7%).

Delaware: Obama lost 5.1% of his 2008 voters while Romney got 8.6% more votes than McCain, which means Obama won Delaware by a smaller margin (58.6% to 40.0%) than in '08 (61.9% to 36.9%).

Illinois: Obama lost 14.7% of his 2008 voters while Romney got 2.9% more votes than McCain, which means Obama won Illinois by a smaller margin (57.3% to 41.1%) than in '08 (61.9% to 36.8%).

Indiana: Obama lost 17.0% of his 2008 voters while Romney got 5.0% more votes than McCain. This allowed Romney to take Indiana (54.3% to 43.8%) whereas Obama won it in '08 (50.0% to 49.0%).

Iowa: Obama lost 14.7% of his 2008 voters while Romney got 2.9% more votes than McCain, which means Obama won Iowa by a smaller margin (52.1% to 46.5%) than in '08 (54.2% to 44.6%).

Michigan (with 96.5% reporting at this writing): Obama lost 13.3% of his 2008 voters while Romney got 2.4% more votes than McCain, which means Obama won Michigan by a smaller margin (53.8% to 45.3%) than in '08 (57.4% to 41.0%).

Missouri: Obama lost 15.7% of his 2008 voters while Romney got 2.4% more votes than McCain, which means Obama won Illinois by a smaller margin (53.9% to 44.3%) than in '08 (49.4% to 49.3%).

Nevada:  Obama lost 0.9% of his 2008 voters while Romney got 12.0% more votes than McCain, which means Obama won Nevada by a smaller margin (52.3% to 45.7%) than in '08 (55.1% to 42.7%).

Virginia: Obama lost 0.9% of his 2008 voters while Romney got 12.0% more votes than McCain, which means Obama won Virginia by a smaller margin (50.8% to 47.8%) than in '08 (52.7% to 46.4%).

Wisconsin: Obama lost 3.8% of his 2008 voters while Romney got 11.6% more votes than McCain, which means Obama won Virginia by a smaller margin (52.8% to 46.1%) than in '08 (56.3% to 42.4%).

I realize these figures of of little comfort since Obama won all these states except Indiana anyway, and got their electoral votes. But I still think it's important to know that even in these blue or swing states Obama lost votes while Romney gained. There's no reason, in my opinion, why four years from now when the next Democrat candidate is someone other than Obama,  the Republican candidate cannot narrow the gap even more and -- just like Indiana -- even take that state.

In all the red states, with the stange exception of Louisiana and North Carolina, Obama lost huge percentages of votes. Romney gained votes in some of those states, but, inexplicably, lost votes in others. Among the latter are Alaska, Arizona, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. If you combine the votes Romney gained in the red states and added them to the votes he lost, it's probably a wash -- and I'll admit that is a problem.

But you might be asking, if Romney got more votes in 27 states than McCain did, then how did he end up losing 2.0 million votes nationwide? The answer lies mainly in three states: California, New York, and New Jersey. In California alone, Romney received an astounding 1.36 million fewer votes than McCain in 2008. Another 760 thousand Republican votes were lost in New York and New Jersey. (In these three states, Obama lost 3.9 million votes, so for some reason there was a huge decrease of voter turnout there.). And there you are: The 2 million missing Republican votes.

Yes, the Republicans lost. Despite all his dismal failures, Obama and his sycophantic media machine waged a successful slash-and-burn campaign. Too many protesting conservatives, liberatarians, and "constitutionalists" decided to stay home or vote third party, otherwise this election could very easily had tilted the other way. They need to get over themselves and get back.

This isn't over. I think we're still in good shape if people just freaking go to the polls next time! We also need to seriously outreach more to blacks, Hispanics, etc. It sucks because one shouldn't have to pander to perceived "victim" groups, but that's the reality of politics. Am I being Pollyanna-ish? Probably. But I'm also trying to be realistic.

Onward.

Your refusing to see the hard truth. Your sentiments are 100% right, but irrelevant. We the hard working taxpayers are the minority. The hordes of free loaders have passed the 50% mark. They do not share the same values as you and I. They are not interested in a vibrant prosperous society. When we hear Romney promise millions of new jobs, we say hear, hear. The barbarian majority hears millions of new jobs as a threat to their sloth. We have to come to realization that we might all inhabit the same country, but we live in two different mind sets.

our time of adversity is coming and we can accept it from God.

NO! NO! NO! It is from satan! Don't believe the lie!

Where is same sex marriage, homosexuality, abortion, stealing to give to others from God? God is good, SATAN IS EVIL. God wants everything good for us. What we are going through is from SATAN, and obama is a pawn of satan to carry out his evilness!

The liberal media covers for barry - they cover his evil deeds. They are deliberately deceitful. Obama is a LIAR - that's who he has to hide his records.

NEVER blame God for what satan does! When God's wrath comes you will know! But He takes HIS OWN away from here to be with HIM because His children will NOT be subjected to HIS WRATH!

I have a bible app on my iPad that has all kinds of great Christian art.

I have lately been struck by two images I found there: 1) Christians facing death in the Coliseum and 2) Daniel in the lion’s den.

In one case God did not stop the murder of His own; in the other he did.

Job did say (correctly, according to Scripture) “Shall we accept good from God and not adversity?” Much later in Acts the disciples were persecuted and “went away rejoicing that they had been counted worthy of suffering for the Name.”

Suffering, not suffering..all is in the hands of God, who is absolutely not the author of evil but does use it in the refining of his saints.

s den.

In one case God did not stop the murder of His own; in the other he did.

Job did say (correctly, according to Scripture)

Yes, we will have tribulation in His Name! Because you are a Chrisian with the spirit of God within you - Satan recognizes that spirit!

Now Job is OT before Jesus shed His Blood for us and that does not only include for our sins but we are made righteous in HIM/Jesus. Getting back to Job - didn’t Job come out better than before. He didn’t get his children back because they weren’t lost. When Jesus rose they were with HIM. But everything else was doubled. He was blessed for ‘his trouble’.

We will have adversity but it is NOT from God. The world is evil as you know from the bible. BUT we get through it by His strength and believing HIM. Do not worry if you believe HIM, no matter what hits you - denounce it by faith. Resist satan and he will flee. We have all the power within us - use it. Speak to your mountain/whatever obstacle in your way. God is good ALL THE TIME. Just believe Him and never have doubt because that is the absence of faith. Liberals just re-elected a pawn of satan. So don’t believe what he can do to you - believe God and all His promises. Good vs evil since Adam/Eve. Nothing new under the sun.

Remember, many will come to The Lord through what will be happening - they will be seeking help - for they are deceived and that’s why we are here to enlighten them. Not everyone will receive HIM but that is not our worry - we are to tell them the ‘good news’ and the HS does the rest.

He took Lot OUT of Sodom, HE took Israel OUT of Egypt, HE took Noah away from the flood and HE will take us OUT before His Wrath comes. God always take care of His own.

How many times is ‘fear not’ in HIS WORD? Someone said 365 times so once for everyday? I don’t know, I didn’t count but He said it enough to know HE KNOWS we will be going through doubt/fear every day because of the evil that exists in this world. So if God says ‘fear not’, believe HIM in spite of what you are going through. That’s a test for you to see how deep is your faith. We grow in faith by each advertisy and we get through it by knowing He will never leave nor forsake us. We have HIS strength, so we use it by faith. Everything is by faith and that’s how it grows - because we exercise it, it gets stronger.

........ 1) Christians facing death in the Coliseum and 2) Daniel in the lion’s den.

The Christians were so deep in faith and hungry for the LORD they didn’t care because they knew once they were dead they would be with The Lord. Daniel would not bow to another God and totally believe God would save HIM and HE did! IF HE didn’t, he would be with HIM forever the next second! In the end, it’s all about faith. This life is a blip on the screen compared to eternity. Either way, the Christians and Daniel were covered - FOR ETERNITY!! Heaven is our true HOME, not here on earth once since entered in.

Keep believing God is good all the time, adveristy is NOT from God but HE knows we will go through it on this evil earth but by HIS strength/by our belief on HIM He gets us through it. No matter what - we are covered by HIS Blood and HIS forever. Just believe with no doubt/unbelief!
