While last night was a bitter disappointment, it did hold a glimmer of accomplishment for those of us in the Natural State. We were able, for the first time since reconstruction, to claim a solid majority in the state house and Senate. Yes, after over 130 years of Dems we have now taken control.
We also have sent a full Republican (and mightily Conservative) contingent to the US Congress, with the exception of one Blue Dog holdout who we will get in two years. We have turned the state.
I love my home, but I can’t take being disenfranchised by the urban vote. I keep thinking of moving to the South, but it’s wishful thinking as I’m one of the millions of underemployed college grads who is treading water with student loans.
Maybe one day I can move to somewhere where I belong, maybe even stick it to the Feds by seceding and leaving the blue states to rot.
Congrats....keep Arkansas red!!!!
Great going in Arkansas. Don’t let them take it back. Call it a plan, but I think it’s time we stopped putting any money into races in places like Mass. Screw them. We should concentrate on what we have. Look at the red states, and make them as red as possible, and fortify that position. Run the Dems out of town. Take the state senate and house, and anything else we can get. Conservatives who live in blue states, NOW is the time for us to unify geographically. We need all the help we can get to take even the urban areas in red states.

Go Arkansas!! A beacon in a very gray day.
The GOP has a firm grip in Michigan and we crushed the union ballot proposals and a horrible green energy proposal last night.
If it weren’t for that stinkin 17th Amendment, we would have 2 GOP senators in Washington right now.
With our conservative Governor, liberals, dimocRATS and the media running against our Gov. Brownback as the meanie, conservatives still did a total clean sweep and built upon out coalition.
Way to go MI. I went to high school in Lansing, things sound like they have changed since my departure - that is good news. Ironically, for two years I was an intern in Stabenow’s office when she was in the state legislature. I’m almost ashamed to admit that, but it was the experience that changed me to a rabid Conservative.
My husband and I graduated from the University of Arkansas years ago and have many fond memories of friends and our years in the state. But we were kind of surprised to see that even people in Washington County apparently voted in the majority for Romney. Is the university community openly conservative these days or did the surrounding people in the Fayetteville area simply outnumber the university?
Now maybe we could all help one another by purchasing as much as possible, things made in those states, vacations, etc....
Seek out the conservative and Christian businesses. Just an idea.
R 53.38%
O 45.45%
Never mind about that last question to you from me- I apparently misheard my husband as he was talking about vote totals in various places; he wasn’t talking about Arkansas at the time.
While we failed to elect a Vice President, Wisconsin succeeded in taking back the State Senate giving us the trifecta of GOP control in the Assembly, State Senate and the Governor’s chair. This is a good thing.
I still cannot believe that we didn’t elect a GOP US Senator and a President. My County (always heavily Republican) elected all the “right” people with a turnout of over 90%. 90%. That is amazing, and the “right” people all won with 60%+ margins.
I always believed that WI would do the right thing - I’m amazed that Obamao carried it, but when it was all said and done, it wouldn’t have mattered. WI is moving in the right direction. I was in Wausau and Rhinelander two months ago (most of my family lives there) and was happy to see the growing movement toward Conservatism and fiscal sanity - something that has been sorely lacking for quite some time.
