Clinton: America Can't Export Jeeps To China NOV 3, 2012 BY DANIEL HALPER
Earlier today at an Obama rally in Chesapeake, Virginia, former President Bill Clinton said that American can't export Jeeps to China:
"They used to produce Jeeps in China and they were about to go broke so they had to quit," Clinton said. "You cant make a Jeep in America and send it to China it weighs too much, it costs too much to send over there. All they are going to do is reopen their operations there and try to sell Jeeps there too. Were doing fine here."
Clinton's comments come just weeks after a Bloomberg report saying that Jeep has been considering opening production facilities in China. The Obama campaign has vigorously denied that report--though Clinton, at an Obama rally no less--today seems to be saying that the only way Jeep could service the Chinese market is if the American auto company opens up facilities there.

Obama...Clinton...Kennedy...Frank...Franken...Dodd...Pelosi...Waxman....Reid...Schumer...and those are the LEADERS...past and present...oh Lord. How screwed up can one party be?
Funny, BMW exports SUVs to Germany out of South Carolina and Mercedez exports SUVs to Germany out of Alabama. In fact they export them throughout the entire world from the USA.
And the Merc is heavier than the Jeep.
They won’t fit in a pirogue either, right Willie?
Clinton is the leader in a parade of morons. He carries the flag.
Brought to you by the political party of Hank Johnson who was concerned that too many personnel would cause the island of Guam to capsize.
Wow.... I thought Clinton was smarter than this.
Goodness, he thinks Democrats are extremely stupid.
Was this before the 2009 bailout? If after, Romney needs to reference this into an ad.
I wonder if he means that the Chinese government doesn’t want heavy gas guzzlers on their roads. Look at what the Obama regime wants for Americans: light, cheap, fragile econoboxes that run on batteries. It is reasonable to assume that the communists in China want the same thing for their peasants. After all, he is closer to them than he is to us.

GAHHH !!!
Dear Lord, I know that I am not to think poorly of anyone for we are all your children, so could you please wipe this comment from my memory forever. Thank you.
Jeep sales rose 63 percent last year to 19,013 -- less than three days worth of China sales for General Motors Co. (GM), the top foreign automaker in the market. Detroit-based GM has 2,900 dealers -- more than 24 times the Jeep number -- that sold 2.55 million vehicles last year, mostly Buick, Chevrolet and Wuling models. It's not surprising they're looking at local assembly given that the tariff barrier is the tip of the iceberg - coupled with the non-tariff barriers, the prices for imported Jeeps in China are staggering:
The Jeep Grand Cherokee starts at 575,900 yuan, or $91,064. In the U.S., it starts at $26,995, according to company websites. The 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 version costs at least 1.2 million yuan, or $189,750, compared with $54,470 in the U.S., according to Edmunds.com.I've heard there's some demand for used American SUV's and minivans, which are prized for having bigger engines and more luxurious options than available in the Chinese market.
On the basis of what?

Thanks Steelfish.
Clinton is pretty bright - he's just spent most of his time since the White House delivering boilerplate speeches for money.
He knows his constituency.
He knows his constituency.
It is amazing to watch how this administration responds so some story’s isn’t it?
