Looks like CVN 77 (George H. Bush) Carrier group returned to Norfolk in July of this year from their prior station in the Med.. So I don't know if there where any sea/air assets available within quick striking distance to Benghazi area other then land based stationed NATO aircraft in the southern Italian air bases used during the Libyan SASO (security and stabilization operations) of last year.
In that case, approx. 1 hour flying time to target going sub sonic.

It really doesn’t make any difference how close or far away our assets are from a firefight if no one gives them an order to act.
