In yet another mass email to its supporters, the Obama campaign is again demanding money. However, the wording reveals a rather Orwellian secret: the campaign knows if you have donated or not based solely on the email address they are tracking.
The email, from campaign manager Jim Messina, starts average enough. Messina touts the President and the money they've raised. For example, "more than 1.8 million Americans -- 567,044 of whom were first-time donors -- giving an average donation of just $53. And 98% of the donations were $250 and under."
But things turn south very quickly. The email quickly tries to shame the reader into donating, then states flatly that they are keeping "records" on your email. Messina writes accusingly, "according to our records associated with this email address, you haven't donated to this campaign yet. With just one month left, what's holding you back?"
In other words, "we're watching you. Now give us money."
The rest of the email continues as it often does as well: Mitt Romney is a creep, our supporters are true Americans, and Barack Obama is "the right guy."
But the cringe-worthy "records" that the Obama campaign is keeping is what makes this email, among the myriad emails demanding money, stand out. Even if you support President Obama, do you really want his cronies tracking your email and keeping tabs on you?

Democrats have long done this on election day when union goons and other thugs canvas neighborhoods in an effort THEY call "knock and drag". They will come to your door several times on election day to "encourage" you to go to the polls. You'd better have a good excuse for not voting on election day the second or even third time they "remind" you that it's election day.
so, they do indeed know where the money came from. Very, very interesting ...
I think that's why the Obama team was demanding e-mails of students to allow them to attend Obama's on-campus visits--so they can hound them for donations afterwards.
Are they just going after the emails of people who have donated in the past, or trawling through various sources to try to get as many emails as possible (Nigerian e-mail scam style)?

All the sins of white America towards slaves and their descendants for 389 years (1619-2008) were supposed to be atoned for by electing someone who was not descended from a slave or the victim of discrimination...but had the right skin color. Elect someone because of his race to show the world that the country is not racist.
It sounds like Barry is working on a second billion bucks in “donations”. I hear beach front property in Hawaii is pretty expensive.
That’s gonna be a whole lot of e-mail addresses. Hell, I have 7 myself. Might as well start there Bumbles.
Somehow I got on their mailing list last spring. I decided to let it slide and just stuff their mailings in my ‘commie’ folder. Maybe I would learn something interesting. I also decided that I would ‘unsubscribe’ this fall to dishearten them. Two days after the debate seemed about right to me. ;-)

They have it even better in the inner cities, where they have the "precinct captain" system. During the regular year, your precinct captain is your "go to" person when you have a problem with the government or utility companies. She will make sure you are signed up for every benefit that you can be signed up for.
But in November, you BETTER vote and help get out the vote, or you will not see her being very helpful the following year.
