To anyone who has followed the investigation and coverup of Operation Fast and Furious, the revelations provided in the Univision special report comes as no surprise. If you will take the time to click on the post tag, Operation Fast and Furious, you will find I have written about it many times. America's Watchtower has an extensive collection of posts about Fast and Furious. The mainstream media? Not so much. You will find very little they have written or produced about the failed gunrunning operation that the Obama administration would rather not talk about and has went to great lengths to either blame it on President Bush, or sweep it under the rug. Univision may not be considered a part of the mainstream media, but they are concerned about Fast and Furious and the events that have transpired because of the operation. They are doing their part to lift the rug and let the rest of America in on what should be common knowledge among Americans, if the mainstream media was really doing its job.
We already knew at least two federal agents and several Mexican citizens lost their lives to guns that could be traced directly back to Operation Fast and Furious. What we didn't know was the story about the teenagers who were killed with weapons provided by the Obama administration. Kudos to ABC News for partnering with Univision to tell this story.
(Hot Air) On January 30, 2010, a commando of at least 20 hit men parked themselves outside a birthday party of high school and college students in Villas de Salvarcar, Ciudad Juarez. Near midnight, the assassins, later identified as hired guns for the Mexican cartel La Linea, broke into a one-story house and opened fire on a gathering of nearly 60 teenagers. Outside, lookouts gunned down a screaming neighbor and several students who had managed to escape. Fourteen young men and women were killed, and 12 more were wounded before the hit men finally fled.Barack Obama campaigned in 2008 as the man who would run the most transparent presidency in the history of America. Operation Fast and Furious, and the coverup that has hindered the investigation, including the invoking of executive privilege, is a prime example of how nontransparent his administration has been. When he was faced with the facts in his interview with Univision, what did he do? What was his fallback position? He blamed it on President George W. Bush. No surprise there.Indirectly, the United States government played a role in the massacre by supplying some of the firearms used by the cartel murderers. Three of the high caliber weapons fired that night in Villas de Salvarcar were linked to a gun tracing operation run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), according to a Mexican army document obtained exclusively by Univision News.
Univision News identified a total of 57 more previously unreported firearms that were bought by straw purchasers monitored by ATF during Operation Fast and Furious, and then recovered in Mexico in sites related to murders, kidnappings, and at least one other massacre.
It comes down to this. President Obama has been lying about Operation Fast and Furious from the beginning. He has refused to tell the truth about the operation. In other words, Obama has lied and people have died. Operation Fast and Furious is one more reason all Americans should be asking themselves this question. Do we really want four more years of transparency from Barack Obama? Think on that carefully before you answer.
I am not naive enough to think it will bring Latinos over to Romney but if it cuts into obama's lead, it will help.
"And we won't. Ever."
I read recently that emails have been found that state, exactly, that prove that this definitely WAS a plot to confiscate all guns in America. Can anyone back this up? If so, get it to any press that might still be free (Fox ?)
If the purpose was to get the bad guys why did they not track the weapons? This whole project was to start a movement against the Second Amendment, i.e. the right to bear arms.
The program was working perfectly. Mexicans were dying, shot with American Guns. The movement to curtail the Second Amendment was being generated in the media by the Obama Administration.
When Brian Terry (border patrol agent) was killed due to Fast and Furious Weapons, it blew the lid off the criminal actions of the Obama Administration. Univision reported on many massacres in Mexico using these weapons. They are estimates of over 300 victims in Mexico as a result of these weapons.
If media reports are accurate about 700 of these weapons have been recovered at crime scenes in Mexico. That means there are around another 1300 weapons still in criminal hands. Those weapons are still being used to kill. These weapons were put in the hands of criminals by our justice department.
Our justice department is complicit in the murder of Mexican citizens and a few American citizens.
I watched the Univision report and it was very professional and honest. Univision is not a conservative network. I believe their report is accurate.
