Since when does serving up junk food give someone a license to preach?
Politics and all things fried, fatty and fast are becoming intertwined to the point of absurdity.
Weve got the Papa Johns pizza guys weighing in on the health-care debate, while the burger slingers out west at In-N-Out cant serve up a cheeseburger without a Bible verse.
The craziness of fast-food commentary on social issues became obvious to me when I stumbled into a totally earnest discussion at a party last week by a bunch of Washingtonians who personally support the right to same-sex marriage, but are also wickedly addicted to Chick-fil-A sandwiches.
This is the stuff of serious dilemma inside the Beltway.
I dont know what to do about it. I mean, I guess I can go through the drive-thru where no one will see me, one woman said.
It doesnt matter if anyone sees you there. Its about helping them fund hate groups by buying their hate-chicken, another responded.
Have you had that banana cream pie milkshake? someone asked.
And the entire room dissolved into a quiet moment of personal ecstasy, the kind that ends with a head-shake of loss, grief and sorrow...

Translation: Christians and conservatives are winning this part of the culture wars, somehow. We were assured by the Human Rights Campaign and ACT-UP! that Chick-fil-A would fold like a dollar store beach chair under Rosie O'Donnell's posterior! I wish they'd just go away!

So wait, leftists as a whole push immoral, hateful, destructive, enslaving, anti-religious, anti-family, anti-responsibility changes on everyone - and that’s OK.
Some dude comes out against gay marriage, and another wants to put bible verses on his cups - and that’s NOT OK.
I love how these imbeciles think.

Since when does serving up junk food give someone a license to preach? I don't know, Petula. The Constitution, maybe? You know, the First Amendment.

I’m sure the author is equally offended by liberal preaching when she tries to just watch a simple movie or TV show...

SCREW liberal supporting companies like Miller Lite that sponsored a homosexual leather orgy in San Fransicko with THIS anti-Christian poster and included a sado-maso pervert show on the sidewalk by a Catholic church.
The culture war is on and too many liberals have been riding the gravy train will spitting on the faces of the silent majority in this nation.

I think it’s some sort of psychological disorder.

Petula, the very fact that we had a GIGANTIC turnout of customers to support Chick-fil-A proves that there is a gigantic pent-up frustration with extreme Leftist ideas. And that turnout could be a harbinger of things to come this Presidential election season....

But his remarks on the subject created a furor and divided the nation yet again along political lines. Conservatives flocked to chicken appreciation day to voice their support for Cathy, creating huge lines at Chick-fil-As across the country. Gay rights activists answered with a Chick-fil-A kiss-in. Revisionist history. The HOMOSEXUALS declared plans to stage a "same-sex kiss-in" protest at the restaurants.
Supporters of traditional marriage and those who simply support a right to FREE SPEECH on such matters staged a PRE-EMPTIVE buy-cott to occur PRIOR to the planned kiss-in.
The Lavender Mafia's plot backfired on them as their protest effort was blown out by MASSIVE support.

Well we had a large church group over last night and we chipped in and proudly dug in to Papa Johns pizza. (Chickfila closed on Sundays) I will continue to support any businesses that angers the establishment of media and nanny government.

Since when does serving up junk food give someone a license to preach? Well, I could point out that the mere ability to memorize some lines and regurgitate them in front of a camera would not seem to bestow a license to preach either. Think about it lib lurkers.
However, I think that's just fine - it is called free speech, seems I read about it somewhere in a paragraph marked #1... I don't agree with the KKK nor the ACLU, but I don't want to live in a Country where either couldn't exist.

But over at Papa Johns Pizza, CEO and founder John Schnatter, a Mitt Romney fundraiser, declared last week that the company would raise the price of its pies if health-care reform stands.
INCREASED costs passed onto consumers? Why, I've NEVER heard such a concept. At least outside of economics courses. Gay-supporting swishy cocktail parties don't concern such matters when Journolistas are present. < /sarc >
