(VANITY) The Civility of Liberals - examples from real life
me | 8/13/12 | me

So, today I go to the bank drive-through, with my 4yo son in tow. Not busy at all, I wait at the teller who is a bit delayed. No cars in the ATM lane next to me.

I hear suddenly what sounds like a woman cat-calling very loudly from behind - I'd think it was "stupid bitch" and other cat-calling, but not sure. Then this bright red little car comes up to the ATM with a light-complected black woman driving. I'm not sure but she keeps mouthing off, albeit unintelligible now, and I'm not sure if she's talking on a phone. She does throw glances my way with a smirky look on her face, but so little I'm again not sure it's not just happenstance.

As we wait and wait, finally I see a white woman in the passenger side; she may have been sitting up to glance at me but again, I don't know. Both of them are dressed and made up nicely (the opposite of me, since I only went out to the drive-thru, period). So I figure "they're talking loudly together on lunch" and not necessarily at me.

Then, the car pulls out - has a multi-colored so-called "Peace" sign on the back. As they stop at the road to get into traffic, the passenger window comes down and the white woman seems to strain a bit to turn around at the opening and yells out distinctly, "you stupid ass! You are a stupid ass! (mumbo-jumbo)" There are no other cars in line so now I KNOW they are cat-calling and threatening ME. Too late as she closed the window and they got into traffic, I stuck out my window and called, "are you talking to ME?"

The nerve of these people. Low class.

Stories of civility from liberals.

What stories do you have? Liberals practicing the peace and love they cherish so much?

We have alot of silly "Choose Civility" stickers in this grossly communist county (they come from the library system). They're not very good at it.

I had a leftist go nuts and actually get out of his car (behind me)at a stoplight and come up to yell at my driver’s side window and shakes his fists.

All over seeing my bumperstickers that read “Trillion-it’s the new billion” and “Your Hope for Change will be Smashed by Your Trust in Government”

Well maybe not. I’m sure it is illegal. Especially if you are a white heterosexual male.

Liberals love the masses but hate people.

Conservatives hate the masses but love people.

I don’t know where I first heard this, but it rings very true.

I find “blowing a kiss” followed by a “$h!t-eating grin” the best response when I’m not sure if something like this is directed at me.

I helped a guy load his truck in a Home Depot parking a couple of weeks ago. When he closed the bed I noticed an Obama bumper sticker. I light heartedly said, “Oh my! Somebody vandalized your truck. Either that or you have some practical jokers for friends. Goo Gone will get that bumper sticker off of there.”

The gentleman looked a little uncomfortable so I just let the quiet pause linger. He finally said, “I put it on there.”

I very politely said, “I’m sorry. That was rude of me. My apologies. You seemed like a hard working, middle class, tax paying, patriot like me. I didn’t mean to offend you. Have a nice day.”

Many liberals have a very limited vocabulary. They must rely on vulgar and rude language because they are not well versed in civilized discussion.

They appear to become very impatient with their own inability to articulate the idea that they are trying to express. Therefore the anger. Just my opinion from observing them in downtown Baltimore.

Bit of Background first: I live in a small town which is 70% liberal and about 15% further left of that. We are as outnumbered as Custer at Little Big Horn. The town paper publishes a column from three local contributors from the right side, including my periodic offerings. One day I am at the local sandwich place, which I frequent on a regular basis. The owner then tells me:

A few weeks ago you had a column in the paper that caused a bit of a ruckus. It seems a guy by himself was reading the column when he went "ape-sh**", started cursing, yelling at you, waving his arms. I was getting ready to call the police when he threw the paper on the floor and stormed out.

LOL. I love it when we get through to them!

In the early 80s my wife and I were visiting old friends in Gainesville (Florida).I, my wife and my friend's wife and our 7 1/2 children were in the grocery store. All of our children have always been very well behaved in such places so C was standing with her cart and all 7 children milling about her waiting while D and I were picking up some last items. I came back near the cart and saw half a dozen well dressed women berating C for being so #%$^# irresponsible to have so many children then one of them shrieked,"and shreiked, "stupid (epithet) yơur'e PREGNANT again! Aren't you ashamed of yourself!? C got a smile on her face, lơked down a her belly and patted it saying "twins!" and her smile got bigger. A couple of the ladies audibly caught their breath. I walked up and asked C if there was a problem and D came up from the other side. A couple of the liberal ladies (Gville is full of them, like no other place in America)spluttered then they all left in a bunch, being insultingly indignant. C and her husband are themselves liberal Gville folks but they like kids and have 4 now and C, at least has a wit.

Amen to what you said, Red.

Facebook is full of these little teen bastards that talk exactly like this. Two of them who verbally assaulted me recently are homosexual relatives of a FReeper.

From personal experience, the upcoming generation is beyond redemption and should be written off as a bad investment. Once they achieve voting age, the investment will not pay off.

I was in an ER waiting for the ambulance to arrive with my seriously ill sister. The waiting room was empty except for this guy who was talking to the reception staff about how wonderful Obama was and that the “teabaggers” were dangerous. I thought”Lord don't let this jerk come near me”. Of course he sat right across from me and started his rant. I said “before you go any further, I think you should know I'm a member of the tea party”. He asked me why and I told him “I'm from a legacy military family and believe in Constitutional government.” He shut up and moved. I'm so glad because I had my S&W .357 magnum revolver and was pretty stressed out because of my sister. If he had really gotten in my face, I truly don't know what would have happened.

Back when W was first running, one contributor to the local rag was a fast food owner. He wrote an outrageously horrible hit piece on W that angered many of his customers so we not only expressed our displeasure with letters to the editor but vowed to never buy another burger from him. This house hasn't seen one of his burgers in 12 years and I laugh every time I pass one of his now closed joints.

Another funny is the vocal demwit down the road who took down his huge Obama signs and bumper stickers 3 years ago. Maybe that's one who has seen the writing on the wall.

You know, I can’t believe I forgot to mention my stickers.

I only have 2 on the car now. The prominent 1 that probably set things off is “NOBAMA ‘12”. I also have a too-small “Coexist?” parody.

Bingo. You must know about our “Choose Civility” campaign.

But Montgomery Co. also has the same thing - except it’s less elegant, in red and white, and easier to read.
