There were many civically-minded New Yorkers in the crowd-such as the man seen above-brought together by the capricious whims of our current mayor.

FWIW, "Galt's Gulp" is completely the brain-child of Todd, who has read Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead several times over.

An incredible tolerance for overwrought, tendentious prose, huh?

It's funny, I tried to read both in high school-and even took a stab at the audiobook version of The Fountainhead-but never made much headway.
The idea of a hundred page-long speech was a bit sobering.
I did read We The Living-her first novel-this past year though, and really enjoyed it.

I’m reading “At Dawn We Slept.” I expect I’ll have to renew it a couple of times ... it’s LONG.

Wow, you're not kidding.
I just finished Russia at War, one of the best chronicles of World War II I've read since Delivered from Evil.

“Miracle at Midway” wasn’t quite as long ;-).
I recently read several books about Russia. Two were by Orlando Figes, author of “The Crimean War,” which I’ll probably check out if I ever finish “At Dawn We Slept.”
