Put good discription you will find these 5 types on almost any prepper thread right here on FR.

If you look through most any of the Preparedness threads here on FR you will find examples of the five types of people warned about in this article.

I myself have posted warning about those I call “I’ve got lots of guns and plenty of ammo and I’ll just take what I need.” and the “I don’t prep because I don’t believe anything is going to happen, but if it does preppers should share with me.” types.

Anyone reading these peoples post can easily pick-up the anger in many of them and you will see that it’s not just the Libs that are shocked and infuriated by preppers. Now some the “I’ll take what I want crowd” when confronted will often back off saying things like “I was just joking”, but I don’t believe it. When I read their post I can’t help but think of this quote from one of my favorite westerns ’Open Range’: “Most times a man will tell you his bad intentions if you listen, let yourself hear.” I’ve ‘heard’ their intentions and they aren’t good.

The third type that I warn about are those who wish to bring God’s Armageddon into the discussion as if they know that it will be God’s will should some catastrophe befall us. They claim this despite the fact that the history of man is full of direr times which were caused by nature or man himself. History has shown us all too well that men do not need God to help them muck things up to a point were their fellows cry out for God to end it all and relieve them of their misery.

There will be many in this ‘its God’s will’ crowd who will want to see you punished as they will see your prepping as you trying to dodging God’s punishment. This group along with the “I don’t prep, but you should share” group will be among the first to report you and your ‘hoarding’ to the powers that be in their efforts to make sure you too suffer just as they do. The first group because as I said they see you as trying to escape the rightful wrath of God (as if they know the Lord’s mind) and the second because you proved them wrong.

You can be fairly certain that all three groups will hate you as they will be quick to blame you for the ‘troubles’ because in their twisted way of thinking your prepping brought the ‘troubles’ and therefore you need to be punished for your transgression.

As the article points out you need to keep in mind that OPSEC is not just for your Lib neighbors many people that you may think of as being conservative thinkers will be just as dangerous.

We have talked a lot about safety in numbers and that is so true, just remember that not all enemies sail under their true colors.

Beware these people, listen to their words carefully and “Listen, let yourself hear.” what they are saying.

Some of the people who claim that prepping is dumb are actually prepping in ernest but publicly stating otherwise. Obviously in order to hide their prepping. I hope that made sense (my sugar is low)

The article is written by a flouride-in-the-water conspiracy-nutjob Paulbot.

Gotta call this one as I see it, Kart.

What bothers me is people saying they feel uneasy, because they think something is going to happen, but just sit back and do nothing - because maybe it won't and they don't want to waste their time.
That means if their instincts are correct, they'll find themselves in a dilemma - then what? Why aren't they playing it safe instead of assuming, somehow, they'll be taken care of by someone else? Who do they think will cater to them later? "Friendly neighbors"?

Half of everything our government spends is borrowed. What happens when the easy money stops? Other nations aren't going to give us welfare checks forever. All the government checks - welfare, food stamps, ss, pensions - will stop. The government checks will be worthless. All those dependent on government are going to get hungry. They're going to want to eat.

The fact of the matter is no one can tell what anyone will do or under what circumstances. Starving people are not in their right minds and criminals will be criminals under ANY circumstances...as religious fanatics will be religious fanatics while forgetting the adage that G-d helps those who help themselves.
And then there is us. Who among us will harden up to the point we are willing to see children starve because their parents did not believe or prepare? Will we teach them to survive or turn them away? How will we know who to trust?
These kinds of things go through my mind more often lately. We are going to face this whether we want to or not.
I would not hesitate for a nanosecond to kill a marauder or a barbarian, but not everyone is either of these things. Talk is cheap. What happens when we have to look people in the eye?

I think many people have forgotten how to trust their own instinct. But this “prepper instinct” is practically screaming at us and can't be ignored for much longer.

I watched a very interesting show the other night about the global consciousness project and the events of 9-11, how the graph increased as 9-11 neared and peaked on 9-11. I wonder whats up with their research these days?

You help when and where you can, but YOU NEVER INDANGER YOUR FAMILY. FAMILY FIRST!

As the head of the household you first concern must always be your immediate family.

But at least if you prepare you could when possible offer help. Those that don’t prepper can only offer to sit and strave or freeze to death with those in need.

“The article is written by a flouride-in-the-water conspiracy-nutjob Paulbot.”

Not so, in my opinion. Mike Adams is generally spot-on with the issues he posts. Flouride issues, for instance is not a ‘conspiracy-nutjob’ thing. Flourides are poison. The Nazi’s used flourides to control the Jews in the concentration camps to make them docile. Flourides do not prevent cavities. Etc, etc, etc. And if you don’t believe this, go ahead, consume lots of flourides...and before long we won’t see you on FR because you won’t shive a git about anything anymore... :)

Push comes to shove, I'm going to eat the catz, and there goes the rest of the household.

So I can be a free-lancer. Doing random acts of kindness or justice where I see fit. ;)

Being single, still able, trained, and with equipment can be a great place to be.

Personally, I intend to hunt the "I've got a gun and I'll take your stuff" type, until someone slaps a bag limit on them.

The “nut cases” (that's a professional term) who get on prep threads, are out there in the country some where. As long as one isn't at my door, I don't care what they think.

Since people don't know what I have, I don't have any people around me hassling me about preps. It's kind of strange as I have three family members who know I have stored food but none of them have ever asked what it is or how much there is. They see rain fed water barrels and ignore them. They are of the group that thinks absolutely nothing is going to happen. If it does happen, I expect them to hot foot it to my house if they can get here.

When I ordered long term food, I did it in a number of orders so huge amounts wouldn't come all at once and interest the neighbors.

I do consider it insurance. I have the experience of hurricanes and don't worry about them as long as my house is still standing. If I had to leave due to damage, that is okay, too, as I'm prepared for that.

I was shocked after Ike, that my town's hospital generator did not come on after power went out and serious patients had to be taken to San Antonio, 5 hours away. No emergency surgery was going to happen in my town. Patients not in danger of dying right then, were in hot rooms with no light.

One never knows what is going to happen to stop food and water and light, heat, cooling, way to cook. It is foolish to have nothing. Those who criticize others who prep, are risking their lives and their family's lives.

I will never need FEMA to take care of me.

Who, in their right mind would want them to? Ever see government housing?

“I will never need FEMA to take care of me.”

“Who, in their right mind would want them to? Ever see government housing?”

The complainers about prepping will be standing in line for FEMA water/food, IF FEMA is available. In a full collapse, it won’t be available.

I am a living person and I need food and water to stay alive and it’s up to me to provide that for myself. I would rather count on me which I am sure of, rather than think someone in govn. I don’t know, will surely keep me alive. No, thanks, I trust me, just like you trust you.

Does anyone know how I can locate stores that carry in stock long term storage food such as Honeyville Grain or Auguson Farms in #10 cans or 5 gal. buckets, in Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, or Colorado? Some Sams Clubs and some Costco's apparently carry it in stock, but I've googled my fat fingers off and still can't locate any of those stores that carry it.

I know I can order it to be shipped to me, but I'm planning a trip to Colorado next week and would prefer to locate a brick and mortar store that carries stock on hand so I can see it first hand. I plan to pay cash and would prefer to avoid using checks or plastic.

I’m a protecter.

For me part of the obvious reasons for being prepared is that I want to live long enough for the adventure, and also to help in the aftermath.

I’m not concerned about the first portions of an emergency, although I am a hands on type who will be there for basic physical helping with rescue, fires, injuries, security etc as all of us will be, but I sure don’t want to give out my goods and food to people at the beginning, let them go through the stages of dealing with the situation(s) on their own, but once the wheat starts getting separated from the chafe, then I will know where and to whom to give a helping, or sustaining hand to.
