US Gov't launches healthy recipe competition for children (Michelle's program)

America's First Lady Michelle Obama today announced a new competition, under her "Let's Move" childhood obesity-fighting initiative, that gives children an incentive to come up with healthy, nutritious, delicious and everyday meals. The prize will be to attend "a 'State Dinner' just for kids" at the White House in Washington in August 2012.

"Calling all kid chefs: Here's your chance to share your favorite delicious and nutritious lunch recipe with First Lady Michelle Obama," a letter from the White House to children via e-mail said.

Obama hopes to "solve the problem of childhood obesity within a generation," and invited parents or legal guardians of "creative kid chefs" from across the US to submit child recipes.

One winning child and parent from each state will be flown to Washington for the state dinner. To participate, the parent or legal guardian of the child (age 8-12) must review the "MyPlate nutritional guidelines" to ensure recipes meet healthy standards. The following food groups must be represented in the dish: fruit, vegetables, whole grains, protein and low-fat dairy foods.

In the summer month of August, when most children in the competition age group will be at home on school holidays anyway, "Let's Move! will team up with the Department of Education, USDA, and Epicurious" to host the dinner, where a few of the lunchtime-type meals are expected to be served.

The winning recipes from the 50 US states and 2 overseas territories will be published in an online book, the White House said, "to help share these new, healthy lunch time ideas."

The deadline for children to tell Obama what they "think we should serve for lunch at the White House," is June 17, 2012

The Obama’s seem to think that dinner at the White House or with them is a great reward.

They raffle dinners off and give them as awards.

I would rather go to Outback without them.

Kids wereen’t fat until the government started feeding them. Ask a kid to make his own lunch...and you’ll get one strange “Isn’t that the governments job?” look.

This phony "Move it" agenda (much like her "Gardening Book") is nothing but a thinly veiled (albeit very transparent and obvious ploy) excuse for this Fat-Assed-Marxist-Beeatch to get her yet more exposure in order to campaign for her "Worst" Half and praise his...wait for it..."Accomplishments" and promote his reelection.

Is that raaaaacist? lol
