Wasn’t it Hal Lindsey who wrote “The Late Great Planet Earth” series........or am I wrong about that?

Correct, I have that book in my collection.

It was published in 1970 and co-authored by Hal Lindsey and Carole C. Carlson.

Many of the observations were certainly correct. Title might not have been that reflective.

The Fed, per se, is unimportant.

Allowing money center banks AND the Fed to be in charge of the money supply, independent of the Treasury OR Congress, is very important.

If the Fed were ended tomorrow and Goldman Sachs/BoA, etc continued on their merry way, nothing would change.

He did write that book. Nonetheless his show for last week is right on and quite factual.

The Fed was the cause of the Great Depression of the Thirties.

The quantity of money, which the FED directly affects, was not thought to be very important in economic theory until Friedman's Quantity Theory of Money which I believe helped him receive the Nobel Prize in Economics. The FED is only one example of the many failures of government going outside its constitutional limits and doing what it should not be doing.

It looks like the history of man's continual push towards collectivism, with brief interruptions, like America in the 1800's, is coming to a close when the whole world embraces the epitome of collectivism - "globalization" and a world leader. I agree With Hal, that the demise of Ameirca will probably usher in the end of the age. The good news is this will only be seven years (Daniel's seventieth week) and afterwards, 1000 years of the incredibly peaceful and wonderful time on earth when Jesus reigns as King.

Thankfully, no man know the timing of the future.

You can read scripture and know where we are and what we face, but those who pretend to know when are self deceptive.

This is not in our hands but his. I just pray that the US again supports Israel and Christians everywhere realise we are forever tied to the destiny of Israel.

I would kind of like to see that. So, the challenge is to make it through the next several years...

We don’t know the day or the hour, but we should know the times and the seasons. God tells us to watch “that that day should overtake you as a thief.” We are children of the light and of the day, not of darkness as are the children of the world. He gives His children light and understanding. Matthew 25:13, 1 Thessalonians 5:1-7.

You bet. Don't forget, although "in the world you will have tribulation," John 16:33, Jesus has "delivered us from the wrath to come" and "has not appointed us to [the] wrath," 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 5:9. At any time Jesus may come for us and seven years later, we'll be back here with King Jesus to rule and reign with Him. So we win, can't lose and are "more than conquerors through Him that loves us," Romans 8:37.
