Should the Free World develop in the Mexican or the Scandinavian direction?
04/14/2012 | WesternCulture

The Mexican countryside is sunny, pleasant, full of stray dogs and in each corner of Russia, you'll find decaying houses containing a samovar.

But today, a nation like Mexico or Russia probably wouldn't last two months in a full out military confrontation with tiny Sweden (9.5 inhabitants).

But that isn't the real point here, although it is worth pointing out how pathetic nations like Mexico and Russia really are considering the fact they have an abundance of natural resources and border to two of the largest and most successful economies on Earth (USA and the EU).

America is presently being mismanaged under Obama, but the US could easily find a new track, provided it is given a competent leader elected by its populace. After all, America is one of the best functioning examples of true democracy the World has ever seen.

However, in extremely corrupt societies like Mexico and Greece, politicians don't strive to get elected by virtue or accomplishment and neither do they strive to do what is best for their respective nation. Their only concern is their Swiss bank account.

I am Swedish and raised in a completly different manner.

I never had a dad, uncle or grandfather who taught me the beauty of greeting the warm sun in the morning, going down to the beach, listening to the eternal wisdom of the sea and then going back home and enjoying Grandma's great cooking.

Instead I, already as a 7 year old child (especially during the summer holidays when there was no school), was taught the beauty of doing all sorts of hard labor (for at least 7-8 hours a day) by my family; looking after the houses I, my brother and cousins one day would inherit through and THEN, when the working day was done, enjoy Grandma's great food.

Self-discipline and self-esteem go very much in hand.

In countries like Greece, Italy etc, you're considered successful and smart among men of influence if you betray your business partners.

Among men like my paternal as well as my maternal grandfather and their business associates, you'd get your sorry *ss kicked out of their offices with that kind of attitude. For good.

In conclusion: The average Swede lives longer, drives a better car, owns a nicer home, has more of freedom as well as less of corruption in his way than the average Russian, Italian, Spaniard, Mexican or Greek.

For a reason.

“But today, a nation like Mexico or Russia probably wouldn’t last two months in a full out military confrontation with tiny Sweden (9.5 inhabitants).”

Oh, please. Tiny Sweden can’t even defeat its Muslim immigrants let alone Russia.

Neither.

The “free world” should develop in the direction of the free market capitalism of 19th Century America.

Stuff it Vlad. We want it all. Initiative and referendum bring everybody into play whether they want to be there or not.

“After all, America is one of the best functioning examples of true democracy the World has ever seen.”

The United States of America is not and never was a democracy.

Democracy as a form of government was known by the Founders of the United States as one of the worse form of governments ever devised.

Democracy is rule of mob.
A Constitutional Republic is rule of law.

The United states is a Constitutional Republic.

Where people become confused is in thinking that popular democratic ELECTIONS is an image of democracy. What they don’t understand is that it is RULE OF LAW = REPUBLIC that ‘rules’. Elections elect people. Elections do not rule. People that are elected are subject to the Constitution. A Constitutional Republic ‘rules’. Elected officials are subordinate to the Constitution. We live UNDER a Constitutional Republic. That is what rules us.

The USA has had issues with elected officials and judiciary appointees ignoring the Constitution but by and large the Constitution is still the law of the land.

Yup, the last thing we need to do is Europeanize.

Tiny Sweden may not want to defeat its Muslim occupants for the same reason that we here in the US slobber all over them.

I have often pondered if the most important verse in the Bible is “Let your yes be yes and your no be no.” It is no coincidence that all successful western cultures have an expectation of very direct and honest communication. You are alluding to integrity in your post. All great
societies are built on integrity. All commerce is built on trust.

Lol! I get your point about culture being ever so important to the success of a country.

“Yup, the last thing we need to do is Europeanize.”

- To begin with, America is, if not a product, yet a prolongation of Europe.

Could there, just perhaps, be a point of looking back instead of rushing on forward blindfolded in the dark?

We are one culture, Islam is another. They wish to conquer us, but are, for various historical, economic and ethnic reasons etc. divided by their unfathomable internal conflict.

If we really wish to survive, we should not become like them.

“Lol! I get your point about culture being ever so important to the success of a country.”

- You actually do?

Many distinguished economists actually have claimed it was all due to luck a company like Volvo developed in Gothenburg (the city in which I live) and not in south east Madagascar.

“The “free world” should develop in the direction of the free market capitalism of 19th Century America.”

- Guess you’re talking about low corporate taxes, innovation and heavy investments paving the way for expansion, business success, hope for the future, growing prosperity and a sweet, lingering sense in the air of freedom for all.

There are two parts of the World that, today, really would fit that description; China and Scandinavia.

But in the case of China, forget upon the sweet smell of freedom.

How does one say “Multikulti ist tot!” in Swedish?
