Bad Newt: Cut Megan Kelly’s On-air Time To Discuss his GA win and the GOP Presidential Primary
March 7, 2012 | vanity

Bad Newt - Used 30 Minutes of Megan Kelly’s On-air Time To Discuss his GA win and the GOP Primary.

Consensus of the Fox panel: “Good grief!! Newt took 30 minutes to make his points!!!” (30 minutes of not talking about Mitt’s Super Tuesday).

And what was up with Fox News not running the GA vote totals on the ticker strip?

Sarah Palin disclosed to Neil Cavuto that she voted for “the cheerful one.” (Newt)

Newt Gingrich picked up 69 additional delegates. His total to date 102 delegates. (By my count, he had 33 going into Super Tuesday and picked up 46 in GA, 2 in ND, 13 in OK and 8 in TN)

Larry Sabato’s pronouncement early in the evening that the VA GOP Primary ballot was rigged to help Romney, shockingly was given air time. A two-man field gave Mitt the majority win and 43 delegates.

Speaking of “Mitt helping” (going by the GOP’s own rules) the FL delegates should not have been winner take all, but rather proportional since the FL GOP moved their primary before March 1 (They were docked 30 delegates which I’m sure they hope the GOP will forgive and return to Mitt but they refused to adhere to the March 1 = proportional delegates. This would have given Newt many more delegates.) Word is this issue will be resolved at the convention.

Near the close of Fox’s coverage, it was very petty (but becoming his closing signature zinger) of Brit Hume to read a David Axelrod tweet saying that Mitt had just eked out a win in Ohio (Brit announced that tweet proved the Democrats don’t want to face Mitt and would much rather face Newt or Rick).

In fact, the entire night of Fox coverage was a vision of dismissal, mocking and annoyance with Newt Gingrich.

Fox News is carrying a ton of bias baggage for Mitt Romney.

The question now: Can Fox News drag Mitt into the GOP winner’s circle?

Up next:

March 10th -- KS Caucus (40 del)
March 13th -- AL Primary (47) AND MS Primary (37)
March 15th to 24th – MO Caucus (49)
March 20th IL “Loophole” Primary (69)
March 24th LA Primary (18)
And so on….

Sorry, Fox.

The voters will decide.

So glad Sarah is one of the lone voices on Fox who praises Newt. His speech was funny, relaxed and at times eloquent.

Sure it was long but so was Rick’s (he got angry at the end) and Mitt’s (did not sound confident & used a teleprompter).

Virginia: Rigged.

Michigan: Rigged.

Iowa: Rigged (but corrected)

Florida: Rigged

GOP officialdom does NOT want either Rick Santorum or Newt Gingrich, that at least is clear. They are ROMNEY all the way, man. RINOS. MSM joined at the hip with 'em, too.

Like Santorum, I am staunch prolife Catholic who goes to daily Mass, therefore, I like him very much, but I can’t see him beating Obama.

Only NEWT can beat anybody DECISIVELY as he put it.

Last night I listen to Santorum’s speech compared to Newt’s, what a difference. Even my 17 year old son said: “ Santorum mentioned nothing specific.” He is such a poor public speaker, I am afraid that we will have to accept Romney who has no conscience when it comes to winning a game. With all the money he has spent and name’s recognition, party elites’ endorsement, he couldn’t even win big in Ohio. That says it all about his chance to win in general election.

If we don’t unite behind Newt, we are doomed because Santorum does not have a skill and agenda to do it.

We need Newt to team up with Palin right now and campaign as a semi-official ticket. But who wants to risk political chance with third-place finisher?

Ms Kelly’s on-air sneer gave away her feelings about Gov. Perry and his to answer her question about Newt’s path forward (he ignored it). I can only imagine how the Fox talent talks about Newt off air.

“Gingrich To Get Secret Service Protection” (as early as today)

.....”The Gingrich campaign submitted paperwork requesting Secret Service protection in late February. Until now the former House speaker was paying a private security firm to protect Gingrich and his wife at public events.

Secret Service protection for White House hopeful Rick Santorum began February 28. Mitt Romney’s protection started earlier, in the first week of February.”.....

I appreciate the roast of FNS, and they deserve it.

Getting home late from work last night, what I noticed here on FR was an appalling trend of our own people trumpeting that Newt cannot win a state outside of his home, GA.

I actually posted to several that they must have forgotten about South Carolina.

The result: a sound of crickets chirping.

Not one person replied to the reminder.

Going out on a limb here, saying that I believe it really had slipped their minds.

Guessing they were too sheepish to answer for it.

Scary.

The MSM is doing yoeman's work making sure no one remembers.

AND WHY (to their angst) Newt burned through 30 minutes of Fox prime on-air time to get out the details.

HA!

It is time to buy some Newt = $2.50 gas!

Ms Kelly was doing a slow burn by the time the camera was focused back on her. She’d been counting how many times Newt said “elite” in his speech ! (I think she said 6) — then went on to explain that meant the media and the GOP.

Thanks for seeing that so clearly.

I think not everyone here would believe that these FReepers could have forgotten about Newt winning SC.

After all, he did win it, and we all knew it at the time, and FReepers pride themselves on being well informed.

Some might think they were being deliberately false when they said he can only win one state. Because they wanted him to drop out and endorse Santorum, they were biased.

I say being biased doesn’t explain their claims. How sheepish would YOU feel if you claimed a candidate only one a single state when the record was very clear otherwise, and your goof is pointed out??

I agree that the media, either the pro Obama media or the pro Romney media, or in the case of Santorum, the radio talk hosts who support him, have helped people forget what Newt has done.

Hardly. I have no use whatsoever for the RINO skank...as for looks; you can see much better in any southern city on a warm summer evening...she also has an arrogant/snob streak that reminds me of elite New England women...ick.

I disagree—and according to the pledged delegate count—a whole lot more people agree with me than with you.

Santorum is the only one who can both take out Romney and Obama. I don't doubt Newt can beat Obama but he can't get past Mitt--Santorum can.

I’m to the point I’d take Romney over Santorum. I am simply not ready for another Republican presidential candidate who can’t act presidential and string a couple of sentences together in an inspiring way.

Newt’s really got the gift. Romney has it. Santorum doesn’t. His voice grates me.

I think what grates me more is the lack of an agenda. Or when he has one, he quickly goes off that agenda and gets caught in all the spiderwebs.

I don’t get why Santorum has taken off. Perhaps I’m “out of touch,” but he simply doesn’t inspire me. I appreciate his candor and conviction... but then he backs away from it. *sigh*

They believe they will be able to knock out Santorum but that Newt is the real threat.

Fox and Friends announced the delegate count to date (Newt with 105).

Fox still NO. 1 - compared to what we have for sure; but cannot get over my disgust with 'Fox' re their daily promptings - and worse - for Mitt. To my family's surprise; did not watch them last night do 'election returns'; and continue to 'turn them off'; more than on; as of late as they are 'hook/line/sinker' for RNC/GOP 'goob wisdom' per Mitt's candidacy.

Frankly cannot get how it is that so many Repubs have fallen for the 'Democrat-sponsored idea and first clue, no? - that Mitt and now respectively Santorum - is who Obama fears the most.

(This 'falling' includes Libertarian/Repub supporting Neal Bortz who yesterday offered that while he really wanted Newt as President; he voted for Mitt in Florida Primary as he agreed that he was the man to beat Obama.

It is pathetic that so many Repubs have been suckered into the Democrat Briar Patch.
