Palin: “this ridiculous dump on Newt was nothing short of Stalin-esque re-writing of history”
Legal Insurrection ^ | 1/27/12 | William Jacobson

Posted on 01/27/2012 7:15:55 PM PST by Lakeshark

Sarah Palin just launched a thousand points of fright at Team Romney and the Republican establishment who have been going after Newt’s relationship with Ronald Reagan, via Facebook:

We have witnessed something very disturbing this week. The Republican establishment which fought Ronald Reagan in the 1970s and which continues to fight the grassroots Tea Party movement today has adopted the tactics of the left in using the media and the politics of personal destruction to attack an opponent….

I am sadly too familiar with these tactics because they were used against the GOP ticket in 2008….

But this week a few handpicked and selectively edited comments which Newt made during his 40-year career were used to claim that Newt was somehow anti-Reagan and isn’t conservative enough to go against the accepted moderate in the primary race. (I know, it makes no sense, and the GOP establishment hopes you won’t stop and think about this nonsense. Mark Levin and others have shown the ridiculousness of this.) To add insult to injury, this “anti-Reagan” claim was made by a candidate who admitted to not even supporting or voting for Reagan. He actually was against the Reagan movement, donated to liberal candidates, and said he didn’t want to go back to the Reagan days. You can’t change history….

What we saw with this ridiculous opposition dump on Newt was nothing short of Stalin-esque re-writing of history. It was Alinsky tactics at their worst.

I could see if the situation only involved liberals, the elite media or elite republicans. But it's way deeper than that. And some of it was coming from Palin friendly sources.

It's one thing to stick with your friends. It's quite another to ignore all the participants.

I think this pretty much ends any speculation that she would EVER endorse Romney, she will never endorse that sack of crap..even if he is the nominee, she knows what Romney is, we ALL know what he is, but unfortunately many in the GOP have decided to go the leftist route and support a progressive leftist who is basically Obama with an R next to his name

This is a very powerful statement, which everyone should read closely and in its entirety.

It is all proceeding as I have foreseen it.

She won’t endorse Romney. Newt will fall. Romney will clinch by March

And then....

On the STUPID notion that the voters would choose Øbama-lite.

Why settle for Øbama-lite when you could have the real thing?

I’ll finish your sentence, as much as it pains me to say it, if Mitt gets the nomination, Obama is a lock for re-election. One of the main reasons why McCain lost in 2008 is because he didn’t get enough Conservative votes. I started listening to Mark Levin in early 2008(Guess you can say I really got into politics late LOL) and I heard caller after caller say how they will just stay home and not vote..now just imagine if Romney is the nominee, how many will stay home..it will make the McCain numbers seem trivial in comparison

Stalin would have just had Newt killed in the middle of the night. We can’t assassinate men so easily anymore so we have to settle for assassinating their character and reputation. That’s what’s going on. At this point, I truly am sorry to say, I’m really having to ask myself who I hate more, Mitt Romney or Barack Obama. I don’t see a heck of a lot of difference between the two. Maybe if I was a little less informed it would be easier to make a decision.

I agree with you on that. Romney has fallen to almost meet my expectation of him. Overtly all smiling white teeth. Covertly a shark willing to do anything.

He is a sorry lying bastard with principles (none at all) equal to obastard. He has demonstrated that he is obastard light with blessed underwear.

I have a question - how come GOP candidates don’t mind vomit, blood, guts, and fighting tooth-and-nail when it is aimed at each other... but when the General Election comes - they soft-shoe.

In 2008, McLame refused to play any form of hardball, and he put a muzzle on Sarah... and what happened?

It’s one thing to use the primary time to vet candidates and problems that will CERTAINLY come out in the General election... but the level of crap being thrown by GOP candidates (and their insane PACs is sickening.

I’ll finish your sentence, as much as it pains me to say it, if Mitt gets the nomination, Obama is a lock for re-election.

This is because the GOP establishment is just as corrupt and "owned" as the Democrat party is.

I have all along thought in the back of my mind that the "fringe" folks that put forward that we really don't pick our candidates or the eventual "winner"..were conspiracy theory nuts. But how do you explain the current slate of candidates? Crap, crap, crap, and crazy crap. Just a few months ago, the general thought was Obama was sure to lose against pretty much anything that draws breath. So along comes a slate of candidates - some with fairly solid conservative credentials - and one by one, those get cast aside with accusations and stupidity on their own part, leaving us with the above sewage.... all of which (other than the nut-job Paul who couldn't campaign his way beyond dog catcher) are running to the LEFT -

And all of this at a time when real Conservatives have gained a great deal of attention via the TEA Party (which is beginning to be eroded by infiltration and copy-cat groups... but that is another issue).

Something stinks... and it isn't just the stench of the Gangrene of the rot in this nation...

The internationalist Rockefeller Republican establishment during Election 1964 (according to Nelson Rockefeller public relations head, Stuart Spencer) decided that, "We had to destroy Barry Goldwater as a member of the human race."

So "We have to destroy Goldwater(Done!) Reagan(Damn) Palin(Done!) Cain(Done!) Bachmann(Done!) . . . ."

That might require putting the GOP out of its misery!

They are a bigger obstacle to real progress than the disjointed, foundationless democrats.

The GOP has been the enabler of our destruction, the dems the vector.

Romney is a seriously dangerous candidate.

If Mitt wins the GOP nomination, it will be such fun to see him and his minions tell us to “get our asses in line.”

When they do their emails, letters, rallies and canvassing just watch the wellspring of volunteers and foot soldiers dry up. Forget the young turks, TP and bloggers...they’ll be helping the Senate, State and Congressional races. Mitt is gonna be alone and the MSM sharks will be circling. It will be a classic take down.

They will:

01. Try to rally the base (cough, cough, cough)
02. Try to mend fences (hammering us on the boards)
03. Try to scare us
04. Say they don’t need us...we’ll naturally come to him
05. Beg
06. Beg some more
07. Get desperate
08. Get a “token” conservative as the Veep
09. Lose
10. Make a ton of excuses
11. Blame the base
12. Blame the tea party
13. Blame talk radio
14. Blame the bloggers
15. Blame Sarah Palin (and try to poison her for 2016)
16. Roll out Jeb Bush for 2016

There is a Civil War in the GOP—like the other one—it started in South Carolina —One side has all the money and power—the other side a rag tag group of citizens. But just as the Confederate States had the genius of men like Jackson and Lee—The Tea Party confederation has Newt and Sarah Palin. It looks like Bull Run is shaping up in Florida—all Tea Party supporters must send their aid to the embattled conservatives in the Sunshine State. Its going to be a long hard fought war and its for the true ownership of the GOP. It is for nothing less than the shape of the nation in a time of great peril. We fight with TV ads and ballots now—but if we do not succeed we may well be fighting the next time with bullets and bayonets to keep our freedom. God Bless the Tea Party Patriots! God Bless Newt and Palin!
