Florida Republican Rep. Allen West may be the Republican candidate for vice president in 2012.
Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said at a Republican Palm Beach County fundraiser that if he won the Republican presidential nomination, he would strongly consider a Floridian as his running mate.
“Allen West would certainly be someone you’d look at,” Gingrich told NBC affiliate WPTV.
West responded, “We don’t know what the future holds, but I’m always willing to serve my country.”

Elected in the November midterm election, West is one of two Republican African-Americans serving in Congress. He has rapidly emerged as a national conservative star.
Explain to me what an our allegedly worst nightmare would be.

IF Schwartzkoff is pesrona non-gratia, who actually vets Col. West?
I want to know WHY presently Col. West is offered all the while that Ron Paul is being destroyed.
I WANT to know WHY COLONEL WEST is being offered NOW.
Come on Newt your only real prospect for V/P lives in Alaska. She would be your only hope of offsetting the woman vote. I think the woman vote is going to be trouble for Newt. I would not no why but It is just my opinion

I guess we’ll soon see if Rubio’s the good conservative we think he is by whom he endorses - I pray it’s Newt, but sure have been surprised (and disappointed) lately by some like John Bolton and Gov. Haley.

Rubio’s natural born citizen status is murky. I don’t think his parents were citizens when he was born.

She’s a social liberal in some areas, dubiousness about her “orientation” or at least rumors, and may have voted for 0bama. Or not. But not clear.
Rubio's parents only needed to be US citizens on the day of his birth (on US soil) for him to qualify as a Natural Born Citizen. They needn't have been NBC themselves, for him to be one.
NO to Condi Rice. She is a RINO in many ways and I think she secretly voted for Obama 4 years ago.

True but Marco Rubio is having been born in Miami. Only TWO categories of citizen: Natural Born and Naturalized. As to the Native Born "category," that is a SUBSET of Natural Born. All Native Born citizens are natural born and, birth bozo fantasies aside, there are legally only TWO categories: Natural Born and Naturalized.
Why? Is that a constitutional law written in stone?
