In this morning's GOP presidential debate, NBC moderator David Gregory asked Texas Governor Rick Perry a question about electability. Governor Perry took it a step further and laid out the three big questions primary voters should be asking themselves: "Who is it that can beat Obama? Who is it that can invigorate the tea party? Who is it that can take the message of smaller outsider government that's truly going to change that place?"
While the mainstream media and party establishment have been obsessed with that first question for months, the other two have been virtually ignored in their zeal to push Republicans to settle once again for a non-conservative nominee. With the actual voting underway, it's more than time to ask (and answer) those other two questions.
When it comes to invigorating the grassroots activists who were instrumental in the shellacking President Obama and his Congressional cronies took in the 2010 midterm elections, Governor Perry demonstrated once again that he is the candidate that can inspire the tea party.

Well, actually, him not flinching this a.m. and calling Messiah Obama the obvious (A SOCIALIST) on live US coast to coast TV this morning was good, for starters.
The biggest question is why do you excerpt your own blog.
The left and GOP Establishment is terrified of Perry and others are unwittingly helping them. Case in point, I heard the governor say “If the Iraqis want us there” right after the troop deployment question yet everyone is saying he wants to “reinvade Iraq”.
We need to fight the media and GOP elite and it won’t be easy but let’s get the truth out whenever we can.
Perry is serving one purpose: To help Willard Flopney win South Carolina.
Thanks to spoilers who have ZERO business running for our nomination like Fred Thompson and Rick Perry in the South Carolina - first in the South primary, we get McLame and McWillard shoved down our throats.
Yeah, keep SPLITTING up the conservative and evangelical vote, you doofuses!
The moderate and liberal establishment wings of the Republican party thank you both for your service in dividing the CONSERVATIVE wing.
I think we need to concentrate on questions like these, focus on defeating President Obama, and work with each other instead of against. Rick Perry is trying to tell us what needs to be done, but are we listening?
The media and GOP elite are trying to decide for us who our candidate will be. Are we going to let them?
Q. *WHAT* is your name?
A. Rick Perry
Q. *WHAT* is your quest?
A. To seek the White House!
Q. *WHAT* are the three Deparments you would eliminate first?
A. Oops.
Cheers!

I was glad to see Rick Perry finally show up for the dance. He was incredibly good today. I wish he had come out like this 2 mos ago.
I agree, but . . . it matters far more whether he is ready for prime time now than whether he was ready two months ago. He's not my favorite, but I'm not willing to write Perry off. Excluding my top choice [no matter how much we may hope, she's NOT running!], my preferences among those still in the race are Newt, Perry, and then Santorum. Paul is too nutty, and Romney/Obama are big government leftists who will move us toward socialism. I want to see which of the three not-Romneys will win the next few states and then see two of them drop out. It's that or watch the decline and fall of the American Experiment with freedom.
Just ignore the Perry threads. Remember, you stated that he was going to drop out of the race last Wednesday.
Hmmm, three big questions for Perry:
1) Why are (at least were) you so proud of the Texas DREAM Act?
2) Why did you sign that order on Gardasil, if you claim to be conservative?
3) Why did you push harder than hell for the biggest land grab in US history (the Trans-Texas Corridor)?
4) Why is Romney more favorable to you than the other candidates?
(ok, one extra)
Newt or Perry either one is fine with me. I think Newt has the best chance at the moment because he should be strong in the South.
Well, there are a lot of loose chicks in Alaska and they get kickbacks.
Why did you push harder than hell for the biggest land grab in US history?
And fencing off that river from Texas landowners would be different how exactly?
Specifically since the TTC DIDN'T HAPPEN.
Nobody was forced to get Gardasil either, by the way.
Suck up talking points much? Try not to parrot things mindlessly.
It makes you look mindless.
“Specifically since the TTC DIDN’T HAPPEN.
Nobody was forced to get Gardasil either, by the way.”
So, by that logic, if Perry tried to ban guns (or even register them), that wouldn’t bother you, as long as the legislature stopped him.
Sorry, but my standard for calling someone conservative is a bit higher than that.
We agree.
