This year those of us who cherish the phrase Merry Christmas have started to say Merry Christ-mas to reinsert the name Christ into the greeting. Heres a reminder of how we started to lose Merry Christmas 40 years ago.
On the day before Christmas in 1971 the New York Times ran an article about a new holiday called Kwanzaa that was invented by an America hating Black separatist named Ron Everett. Everett now uses the made up African name Maulana Ron Karenga to show the world he wants nothing to do with White America.
That Mr. Karenga was in a California prison doing a one to ten year stretch for illegally imprisoning and maiming two Black women he thought were plotting to kill him meant nothing to the Times. They didnt want to talk about how their new hero had been certified as a paranoid schizophrenic by a court, so they didnt.
Karenga called his new holiday Kwanzaa, a Swahili phrase meaning first fruits because he says it is a harvest festival. This is a lie. Kwanzaa is Karengas answer to Christmas. He would like nothing better than to see Kwanzaa actually become the Black Christmas he has always fantasized about.
In his 1977 book on Kwanzaa, Karenga said it was chosen to give a Black alternative to the existing holiday and give Blacks an opportunity to celebrate themselves and history, rather than simply imitate the practice of the dominant [White] society.
Upon hearing of the new holiday, a young unknown Al Sharpton commented that Kwanzaa would perform the valuable service of de-whitizing Christmas.
Why is the word “and” in the title? Al is a criminal in his own right.
My bff and I were talking about how many people starting saying Merry Christmas in our office instead of “happy holidays”.
How many people have you said "Merry Christmas" to, only to have them angrily respond that they celebrate Kwanzaa?
I've heard of Kwanzaa before, but this is the first reference I've seen to it in this holiday season.
Just because you're angry about something or you don't like it, doesn't mean it has any great influence in the real world.
And the funny thing is, I have never heard anyone other than a silly white liberal talk about celibrating Kwanzaa.
I mentioned Kwanzaa once to a black friend of mine and his distinct reply was a hearty “Sheeee iiiiit...”
I like “Festivus- for the rest of us”
“....he wants nothing to do with White America.”
.
And there are many more like him among ‘Holder’s people’.
That’s why MLK’s famous “I have a dream...” speech has become meaningless because it will always remain a dream.
EACH OF US who refused to fight back and say “MERRY CHRISTMAS” at every opportunity!!
We thought we’d be “politically correct” and “sensitive”, for a while, as we tollerated “Happy Holidays”.
Not realizing that we were contributing to the public ban on any acknowledgement of Chritianity.
“I’ve heard of Kwanzaa before, but this is the first reference I’ve seen to it in this holiday season.”
Thats because it starts today, I believe. Across the land, local news stations will do the obligatory story about people celebrating Kwanza at the local community center, or (oddly) church. The clueless reporter will spout off about ‘unity’ and ‘togetherness’...not being intellectually curious enough to do any research into this ‘harvest festival’ (which oddly occurs in the winter).
I don’t get too wrapped up about Kwanza; but, I think its a crying shame that presidents (not just the current one) have issued Kwanza messages, putting this nonsense on par with major world religions.
Like you, I don’t think it has great influence in the world...but the mere fact that well over half the population has no idea how radical the ‘holiday’ is does disturb me.
In other words, I’m not disturbed by the people who ‘celebrate’ Kwanza, I’m disturbed by the white-guilt ridden sheeple who are afraid to confront it.
I won’t tolerate any more America Haters. The whole world is falling apart and guess who is going to have to fix it,AGAIN!!
Neither one of these shitbirds are big enough or powerful enough to “kill” CHRISTMAS.
Unless one allows themselves to be cowed by scum-sucking maggots, that is.
I refused to be cowed by turds.
I believe the Kwaanza celebration is dying out.
It was BS to begin with and Christmas is not a White Holiday. It is the Birth of Christ. White Christmas is a song about snow.
Can you photoshop a soldering iron in her hand instead of the candle?
I appreciated the article. Americans need to be enlightened about the lunatic roots Kwanzaa, a non-holiday that is promoted and celebrated by the Oprah Winfreys and Michelle Obamas of this world.

It's obvious that you don't live here behind the enemy lines in MD.
Phooey. There is a picture somewhere of Bill and Hillary exiting a church. Hillary is wearing a ridiculous daisy arrangement around her neck. . . quite the politically correct ones, you know.
I saw something interesting and odd a few months ago. I was doing research through some old newspaper microfilms from the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s. Many of my huntings hade me looking through rolls from the November/December time period. Happy Holidays, Holiday Savings, Holiday Sale was a common phrase, especially in advertising during those times. There was less about Christ and more about Santa even when Christmas was mentioned. This isn’t NYC or LA. I’m in a modest midwest city. I think a lot people get wound up on this for the sake of getting wound up on it.
It’s not about fighting back. It’s about expressing what’s on your heart. And if saying Merry Christmas is more important than what’s on one’s heart, then it’s meaningless. The spirit of Christmas doesn’t reside there. The spirit of anger, the fight or the words do. Sad.
If what is in your heart isn’t reflected in you behavior, it is meaningless!
