Muslims are just like Christians, except they are trendily exotic, and of course infinitely more politically correct. Christians have Christmas; Muslims have quaint rituals like Ashura, during which they please the demon Allah by slicing open children.

The idea is to commemorate the martyrdom of Hussein ibn Ali, grandson of Mohammad, whose death marked the split between the Sunni and Shia sects.
Ashura is celebrated by publicly beating, cutting, and/or flagellating yourself. Children are expected to participate. It’s a quaint multicultural practice that we’ll be seeing more of as Islam supplants Christianity in the West.

I know I know it’s only a handful of them giving a great religion a bad name.
Flagellation is not unknown in Christendom. But to the best of my knowledge children are not included.
To be fair, this is not a Muslim event, it’s a Shia event.
They’re something between 10% and 20% of Muslims.

More specific and inhumane practices of islam. You will vomit==guaranteed—this is what zero is getting us ready for—by repealing DADT and brainwashing our men and women to think “sodomy” is good. Takes us off the Judeo/Christian paradigm and is going to brainwash our children into a worldview where up is down and you are slaves—to both passions and the state.

To be fair, f 10-20% of Christians were required to “celebrate” their religion by cutting, beating, and slashing themselves and their children, then all of Christianity would be labeled as monstrous (Oh - wait - it already is labeled that... )
Just like they have been doing since Allah was called Marduk over 3000 years ago.
But its primary practice was at one time by extreme monks long ago, and by a relatively small sect of crazies in the Philippines (and if one were to look at their ancestral religious practices before Christianity even came on the scene there, you would quickly see where their radical rituals come from).

Exactly! Sunni do not celebrate this and they are the majority of Islam.
Mortification of the flesh was widely practiced by various Christian groups in the Middle Ages and early modern periods.
Flagellation, hair shirts and all that.
Mortification of the flesh took many forms (from living solitary lives in caves with nothing but camel hair clothing, to some that did practice flagellation and other forms of self-abuse. But this was generally done by adults (nearly all men), and was not generally inflicted on infants and children.
