I think!! I like!!
I see nothing wrong with segregated swimming nights according to gender..the fact that is was brought up by a muslim doesn't mean its automatically bad..it deserves some thought.
Us girls felt freer than when the boys were also swimming with us. Open swimming was for those that didn't mine both sex's swimming at the same time. age was also taken in consideration at swimming times. Younger children had earlier swimming times.
Not sure about other pools in the area - don’t use them - they might also be ‘privately owned’ by other Home Owners Association(s) - not tax-payer funded. The ‘planned community association’ BOD members are responsible for making decisions....much like elected County and State supervisors. Same difference....it’s all about power and pushing an agenda.
There’s the mandatory HOA fee and perhaps optional membership fees for using facilities. Otherwise it’s communism for the affluent.
Columbia seems to be a clean and well maintained community, and I suppose a pleasant/convenient place to live, but there’s a sterile feel to it. Guess I’m just not a planned community type of person. Regards.
Family members lived there - and you are correct - it is sterile. No landmarks of consequence - it’s very easy to get lost because all the ‘villages’ look alike.
It is not a ‘gated’ community and there are criminal elements in some areas. Mostly vehicle theft and home break-ins.
Bedroom community for commuters to Baltimore and Washington DC. Close to Annapolis and other historical places.
“No landmarks of consequence - its very easy to get lost because all the villages look alike.”
Perfect description! There’s a ‘sameness’ to it that almost makes it like a corn maze. Regards.
