OAKLAND, Calif. — Leaders across the country felt increasing pressure Friday to shut down Occupy encampments after two men died in shootings and another was found dead from a suspected combination of drugs and carbon monoxide poisoning caused by a propane heater inside a tent.
Citing a strain on crime-fighting resources, police first pleaded with and then ordered Occupy Oakland protesters to leave their encampment at the City Hall plaza where a man was shot and killed late Thursday.
The Oakland Police Officer’s Association, which represents rank-and-file police, issued an open letter saying the camp is pulling officers away from crime-plagued neighborhoods....

If he needed a propane heater for his tent, maybe he should have saved the money from the heater and bought a better sleeping bag, or bought a bus ticket to a warmer city to "occupy."

Sounds to me like any OWS camp IS a crime-plagued neighborhood.
That's what I was thinking. A congregation of freaks, druggies, & nut jobs appears to be the perfect place for the cops.
3 murders? Is that all? Pretty good for a “non-violent” movement. Thank goodness that Pelosi embraces their passion for justice. Too bad the OWS protesters won’t allow police to investigate these unfortunate incidents that “just happened”. Just like the rapes, stabbings, indecent exposures, molestations, lice infestations, beatings, and harassment that “just happens”. At peaceful exercizing of the first amendment.
The environment was right for crime, but the politicians would not allow the police to act when they saw what was going on. it was serious enough early on that children were sent out of the camps with their parents. The rapes, beatings, drug dealing, thefts of nearby stores, unsanitary conditions breeds disease. There was pan handling claiming people had severe illnesses and needed money as no health insurance. A person was pulled from their bike and it was taken....these are animals.
I heard a report that the 9/11 memorials were being defaced as well..with graffiti.
The Tea Party had to pay for permits.
The Left’s Death Camps did not.
