I watched that too - and Juan Williams looked relieved - happy almost.
Perhaps he recognized his roots - family, Church and the work ethic.

On a serious note, Juan was mugged this year by the political left - so why shouldn’t he have some sympathy for Herman Cain.
I’d go as high as 40%. Lot of socially conservative rural blacks out there. Now they’re not going to tell an exit-pollster who they voted for (too much flack from the black community) but I guarantee you that inside the privacy of that voting both they’ll pull the lever for Cain.
Lot of black race-mongers out there out of a job if Cain gets elected. And as much as I hate unemployment, I won’t be sorry to see ‘em go.
I agree with Williams, Cain will get a LOT of the black vote in large part because blacks do not support gay marriage and they are the main reason prop 8 won in CA. They came out to vote for Obama, and while they were there voted for 8 too. I received a flyer in the mail just prior to the election, a flyer directed at blacks in favor of prop 8 pointing out that Obama was against gay marriage. The fact that he supported repeal of DADT and and beat his chest over it is going to hurt him badly if Cain gets the nod.
He means 30 percent of the black vote, which the R usually gets 10, in which case it’s bye bye Barack.

Actually I think 30 % is a good number for blacks to vote for Cain
Many blacks voted for Obama simply out of pride and I can not blame them one bit....
Having put the first mulotto in office.... They get to put a real black man in office who also happens to be a lot like themselves....
I’m not talking about urban poor blacks but the vast number of hard working religious fiscal conservative social liberal blacks who made up a large part of the democrat voting block.....the people who actually vote
If it was a white conservative vs. Obama, forget it.
That said, Cain could be the type of guy to convince the black voting populace of their sin of voting black instead of conscience. If that works the Republican Party and America could be in for a real awakening.
What juan is admitting is that blacks are racists and their votes will be effected by skin color.
We know it but when juan says it out loud, he doesn't even know what he is admitting to. What a chuckle head.

Belafonte? Give me a break! He is so far over the hill that the only time anybody even pays him a passing thought is when the PA system of some baseball stadium tries to wake up the crowd with “Day-O” from 1955.
Other than that and stupid political statements, he is long forgotten.
If Cain moved 20%, maybe even just 15%, of the black electorate off of the Dem plantation, it would be an 8.0 magnitude earthquake hugely affecting the geography of the political landscape henceforth.
You and I see this similarly.
I’m a Cain fan from a completely color-blind, ideological perspective. The fact that there is this potential to really rework the political landscape just bumps him up another level for me.
I will say I voted for him in 2004, against Isakson in the primary, so I’ve been watching him a long time. He’s the real deal.
Saw Cain on his book tour last week. There were several blacks in line and it was interesting to talk to them. For the record, there were several “converted” Ron Paul supporters also.
But I believe there are likely more closet conservative blacks that we know of in this country, and they are very excited about his candidacy, although, they, like many whites, are not voting for him this time “just because he’s black.”
That’s an interesting thing - you have to wonder how many aren’t telling pollsters the real story.
I got a signed copy two days before the official release. We got Cain to commit for a big county GOP event, and then the FL straw poll hit the next week. It made filling up the event, and then some, REALLY easy!
