Last I checked, Rubio is a Natural Born Citizen. If you were born in the U.S., you meet the definition. Your parents DO NOT have to be US Citizens.

You are right on most things...but you are wrong on Rubio. Like Obama, Rubio is not eligible for the Presidency or the Vice Presidency because he is not a natural born citizen

if you really wanna push it, why not disqualify anyone that wasn’t born in one of the original 13 colonies? obviously, since, say, california didn’t exist at the writing of the constitution, the framers couldn’t have possibly intended for people that were born there to be qualified to be president.

The Supreme Court binding precedent in Minor vs. Happersett (1874) provides the Constitutional definition of natural born citizenship.

The Court in Minor did make a direct holding that Mrs. Minor was, in fact, a US citizen. The Court established her citizenship by defining the “class” of “natural-born citizens” as those born in the US to parents who were citizens.

This is clearly incorrect. Read "Minor v. Happersett." The Court specifically did NOT define "natural born citizen."

It does nothing of the sort.

From the written opinion:

"The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that. At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners. Some authorities go further and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction without reference to the citizenship of their parents. As to this class there have been doubts, but never as to the first. For the purposes of this case it is not necessary to solve these doubts."

The question of whether parental citizenship is required to qualify as a "natural born citizen" remains one that has never be definitively settled by statute or by case law.

Yes, there is usurper in the White House, and he will likely be voted out...BUT...Where are the men and women of principle and courage to defend the rule of law?

Without the rule of law we are in **serious** danger as a nation. If it isn't Obama and his Marxist minions that crushes freedom under his heel, without the rule of law it absolutely will be someone else.

Would LOVE to see the liberal nutjobs raise this issue about Vice President Rubio... not only can he easily turn it around and say that Hussein is not eligible, and they can do dueling birth certificates, but also, they would most likely anger Hispanic voters, and it would be construed as racist, but we expect that from the left.

Furthermore, I read somewhere that Rubio has an “in”....at the time of his birth, his parents were allowed some type of duel citizenship with Cuba and the US.....is this true? I wasn’t sure, but it sounded logical at the time.

Here's my take, again.

I suggest that the Constitution defines who are natural born citizens at the very beginning of the document.

Preamble

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

"We the People" are citizens of the United States. "Our Posterity" are the natural born who follow -- the children of the People. The Constitution was "ordained and established" to "secure... Liberty" to its citizens and their children. Whom else was it crafted to secure?

Naturalized citizens can become a part of "We the People," and then their children can become natural born citizens.

It's right there in the first words.

The Preamble already lays out that the purpose of the Constitution was to define a country that was meant to be passed down to "our Posterity," meaning the citizen children of citizen parents.
