Glenn Beck and his beloved sidekick Pat Gray, who used to live in Texas, recently had a conversation with some people very close to Rick Perry with regard to their concerns about him as a candidate. These are people who Beck, without divulging their identities, says that he trusts and that if he could tell you who they were it would only add credibility to their words. What they told him was that in the last four years Rick Perry has had a God-moment:
Beck: Heres what I was told and I believe these people because theyre not just bandwagon fans by any stretch of the imagination. They had real problems with George W. Bush. And they said to me Heres the thing. This guy had a God-moment, if you will, an awakening of something inside of him
Gray: A spiritual awakening
Beck: Yeah. I mean hes always been a spiritual guy but he has had something that has changed in him fundamentally where hes like OK wait a minute. Hang on just a second. Do I believe this or not? Do I apply this or not? And thats whats happened to him in the last four years that has put his feet in cement.
Beck and Pat both agree they are not making an endorsement, but it does seems their minds have been changed about Perry.
The above is all part of a bigger monologue on how the Bush people are coming out in support of Sarah Palin running for president, which to Beck means they are really just opposing Rick Perry. They think, just as the media supported McCain, that Rove and his people supporting Palin as a way of hurting Rick Perry...

Again. Like it always does. I've lost track now of how many times her campaign has been at death's door. Sorry MG, but that train of "prominent names" and "big money" is what got us in all this trouble in the first place. The real train doesn't leave the station till the vetting is over and We the People clear that train for departure. To imagine otherwise is to misunderstand the times.
Nothing personal, but I suspect you are, indeed, wrong. She was recently asked, after Perry joined the race, whether there was anyone in the field she could support, and she said no. Sounds pretty final to me. I say she's in.
I can’t be bought off.
He is a chameleon.
To be fair and balanced, I dont trust any of the candidates so far.
I am sure Michele is a wonderful person but she says she will bring gas down to $2 a gallon. That is so political in that she never explained how she was going to go from point A to point B.
They all make these promises; never giving us a plan as to how they are going to get here to there there . A takeoff on Gertrude Steins there is no there there.
My thoughts.
I’d vote for Perry just to send a Texan with a drawl and an eviction notice to fumigate our house of the commie cock roaches that inhabit it now...
I can just see Perry in a cowboy hat and boots, knocking on the door, while the cockroaches duck down behind the sofa, though michelle will still be clearly visible from any angle, they try and be quiet, but at the last second, they look at each other and scream-
RAID!
Poof.
The End.

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry reading this snippet, so I'm posting my first ever bunny with a pancake on his head pic.......it describes reality far better than Beck just did.....
Romney’s never been on the conservative side of the field....even democrat fields. It is doubtful that 2.5 years of Obama rule have made Romney more liberal that he already was.
You have a somewhat warped view of campaign donations and endorsements. Big names and large legal donations are major lifebloods for candidates of any party.
Large donations and endorsements from Conservative big names like Rush, the late Charleton Heston, many assorted celebrities and prominent business people as well as religious leaders are necessary for a conservative to gain office.
"Prominent names" and "big money" are not evil in themselves. If donated money and endorsements are USED for evil or betrayal by a candidate or office-holder, that's a different story. But look to the candidate himself, then, for the "trouble" you imply or have witnessed.

Glenn is a Libertarian!!! No Rino I know of!
Thank you for your input EV. History makes fools of us all, but we have to act anyway, and hope for the best.

Interesting theory. It would be a way to ratchet up the anticipation one more notch without actually declaring, just remove all doubt that she will support anyone else in the current field. At that moment, all "cheerleader" memes begin a rapid descent into oblivion, leaving one, stark, binary choice. I like it.
I hope she runs even if she can’t win in 2012. It would help her regain credibility in the long-term. It’s going to take a lot of hard work if she does have ideas about being President sometime down the road.
What I’m wondering is if she feels like she’ll be turning her back on her supporters if she doesn’t run in 2012.
Palin waited too long. The train has finally left the station without her....and it won’t back up.
If she enters late, her supporters will melt down into a hell fire, cussing mess worse than we see now. She does not have the numbers to win and if she does not win, she loses influence and speaking fees - her future career.
Beck or Perry?
I actually like Perry the more I read about him.
I like that she continues to flirt with running. I now also like that we have so many candidates. It makes it hard for the media and RINOs to focus everything on one. It also frees up some of the candidates to start taking shots at the anointed “I won”.
I think this has as much to do with his poll numbers dropping as anything. Media can’t help but cover the attacks (honest criticism of Obama) as they try to attack our candidates. This two edged sword seems to be cutting Obama and the media, while helping our eventual candidate.
“See you in September”
Or October, ya know.....whatever.
Good thinking! True. It’s a moving target.
So Perry is much better than GWB. So GWB’s born again Christianity was not God-moment spiritual awakening enough for these guys and Glen Beck? Really.
Perry is really sounding like GWB all over again. I remain undecided and hope he is a true principaled conservative right down to illegal immigration (which I can’t believe from any Texican). If he wins the nomination, I sure hope he is a real conservative. I’m still looking for proof of that even if Beck is convinced. Perry really sounds to me like GWB II, the Sequel.
But isn’t Glenn Beck hosting the Sarah Palin announcement celebration?
