I talked with 2 nice guys yesterday - feeling that a door could be half open, I wanted to know exactly what was their position (politic). I knew they voted for Obama but they seemed to be open enough to hear about Palin and the new teaparty republicans. They asked me to email what Obama did wrong..yes..they don't know but they did not like Bush so they probably still on the "Bush fault" thingy. I would like to start with Clinton and the fact that everybody is saying he was a good president BECAUSE the Congress republicans so helped the economy - and I would like to keep on saying that the congress is democrat since 2006 under Bush. Everybody forget about that. And then Obama.

Does anyone knows the exact numbers when pelosi came to the senate in 2006 - jobs and deficit and expenses - then how much when Bush left - and then how much obama did as spending and awful things like nationalize car industry, welfare etc...sadly I don't feel I am good enough to write a good convincing and looking like non partisan diatribe to make sure I will win their vote for our side.

Please can you help? Thank you :-)

Copy Rush Limbaugh and go for the long run, keep it simple, a single topic, and leave the simple worm in their head, if you need personal gratification then come back in five years because it sometimes takes years for a well placed conservative worm to penetrate.

My personality is at odds with what my intellect sees Rush do, but he is right, in that he doesn’t dazzle them, doesn’t flood them with facts, doesn’t need to personally be there when their eyes open, Rush is about helping people discover the truth themselves, and be their own hero, their own self explorer.

Anyone would have the numbers of government employees and unions under Bush and the same under Obama now - or where to find it? Thanks again.

Take a deep breath and just tell the truth.

Sometimes it is easier to convince using the basic ideas rather than getting so much into personalities. Obama as a person is less the problem than the whole leftist philosophy that people can hire professional politicians to take money from one person and give it to someone else. Another fallacy is the unstated assumption that money not paid in taxes just disappears into thin air. But it doesn’t Money will spread itself around. Money is either SAVED, in which case it is available to be lent to people to start businesses, buy goods, or it is SPENT, in which case it is spread to the store owner, employees, people who truck the goods from place to place, etc. and each of those people pay SOME taxes as well. It is a way more efficient distribution system. It all boils down to who knows most about your life, who should control it. I generally point out that you know the most about what you need, then people close to you, locally, your town, then county, then state and the Federal government knows the least about you, your part of the world, and they also care the least.

don’t compare Bush Obama, use Reagan Obama. Bush had too many Democrat tendencies.

I wouldn’t bother with Bush. My awakening started when I picked up my copy of the Federalist Papers. I wasn’t a democrat, but I don’t think that matters. One of the documents that really floored me too, was Thomas Jefferson’s critique of the plan for a national bank. It might be a little much, but the story of Grover Cleveland is a good one too.

Point them over to Milton Friedman’s “Free to Choose” videos. They can be found on youtube or google idea tv. Those are very good as far as truth telling the actual effects of socialism and the nanny state - the stuff that Obama is trying to do to us, only on steroids.

Bush eats Texas beef. Obama eats imported Japanese beef at over $100 a pound to go along with their nightly caviar and lobster dinners.

ask him if he knows the difference between a penny and a nickel.

Bush raised the debt less, as a share of the GDP than Obama, about that ratio-
A look at the blog “Political Calculations” will give you several good charts. Bush

Bush committed to the Surge. Obama was against it. The Surge worked.

Tom Woods has some great stuff on his website that refutes Democratic economic ideology. It’s tomwoods.com. And then there are some great articles on the 10th amendment center website, but they probably aren’t ready for that yet. If you look at them, it might help give you some ideas about what to tell them.

Thank you so much everybody. What is hard, and you all know that, is that these type of persons don’t know much about politics so if you try to be logical with them - I mean logical like a conservative, these 2 will agree with you. But then they don’t exactly know why Obama is so bad because they are not informed. I agree with some of you who said that we should not drown them under a flow of information but that’s about the only way someone can think - is when they know the facts, no? That’s what I told them: you should not vote if you don’t know enough about the candidate - real info: vote records - affiliations - etc... They agreed on that also. That’s why they asked me more info about what Obama did wrong..arrgghh...so weird for me to hear that. Sounds so obvious.

Personally I think they are just trying to waste your time. I think they do know the differences. They’re just trying to get your response to figure out how to respond to it.

You have to be an idiot not to know the differences between Obama and Bush. That’s why it just is not believable.

Your passion is your strength. Speak from your gut and tell them exactly how you feel and why. You do not need facts on a sheet of paper to do that.
As libs they think with their guts. Do the same with them. Then when they try to convince you that your emotions are all wrong, get angry with them for trying to put you down.
Remind them that you have the same right to your opinion that they have. IOW throw their beliefs back in their face and show them how they are doing and saying precisely what they hate.

A Democrat Obama supporter is not open to objective truth. They can only “feel”. They only believe what the rest of their hive tell them. They reject out of hand any rational argument based on unarguable facts. They live in Alice in Wonderland where unicorns poop skittles.

A noble cause, but probably futile. Can you talk a schizophrenic out of it?

Don't waste time with facts, liberals never use facts and logic.

Just tell them that the pubbies will love them more than daddie obama, buy them a beer, and promise to buy them more if they vote for the pubbie.

The Dims are correct when they say Bush spent way too much. However, they fail to tell you how they wanted to spend much more and called all the Bush spending “draconian cuts”. They also fail to fess up to how it was the Dims annd their folks that lied about Fannie and Freddie while keeping Bush’s attempts to audit and control them under waraps - if they hadn’t went over the deep end, we wouldn’t have the tinder that put us in the current chaos.
