Mila Kunis will indeed attend the Marine Corps Ball with Sgt. Scott Moore, she confirmed loud and proud Thursday, putting to rest a rumor that she'd backed out.
Watch the video if you can, because she said it best: "Never did I say that I was not going." That version of events was made up, she said, "and people believed it, unfortunately."
The rumor, which appeared to be based on a look at Kunis' production obligations, was sketchy but got a lot of play.
"I accepted an invitation and I'm staying true to my word," the actress said at a "Friends With Benefits" media event. "I got permission to be released from work for the day, so I'm flying in and flying out." Kunis will be headed for the Greenville, N.C., event on Nov. 18.
The Tuesday after Kunis said yes, Moore said in an official military statement that he'd uploaded the video on a bet. The sergeant had taken questions submitted from stateside reporters, according to the Military Times, but wasn't available for interviews because, you know, he was a little busy being a Marine on active duty in Afghanistan.
"It was kind of a bet between me and Marines in my platoon," Moore said. "I told everyone I was going to do it, but they didn't think I would go through with it," he wrote. "Of course, a bet between Marines must be honored, so I took the chance. You can't make shots that you don't take, so I took the best shot I could."
Having Justin Timberlake as his wing man didn't hurt either.

Before this there was the Jenna Jameson thing.
Has the USMC Ball always been a drama?
Is that chick on the left Jack Bauer’s daughter Kim?
Yes, that is her.
With that being said, I suspect this will be the most uncomfortable event she's ever had to attend in her life. Where "mature, adult" men will behave as gentlemen and ladies will behave as ladies..who knows, she may learn something there.
Is she the gal that played Jackie on “That ‘70’s Show”? She sure looks similar. Probably too young, though.
Yes, she played “Jackie”.
She looks young because she was one of those rare things in show business, a 15 yo actress who played a 15 yo Jackie on that 70s show, unlike most of the actresses who are in their 20s playing teenage girls.
