Matthews Wonders Why Today’s CEOs Aren’t Committing Hari-Kari In Shame

Ummmm. I’m not really sure what to say here. Is Chris suggesting that today’s CEOs should be jumping out of windows in shame for what he thinks they ‘ve done to the economy? Or, is he just getting misty eyed for the good old days? Help me out here my little mobsters.

The conversation between him and noted lefty, seniors will just have to die, economist Robert Reich, concerned the debt ceiling battle and the Republican refusal to raise taxes on the rich. Chris lays the blame of this current recession directly at the feet of the “wealthy” … who in Chris’ mind have sucked up all the cash out there and now just don’t want to share. Why, back in the good old days CEOs would never take these salaries … they would take the blame and … ummm … jump out the window to save family honor? Your patriotic duty.

Set aside the tragic nature of the aftermath of the 1929 crash when Wall Street executives saw personal and corporate fortunes destroyed, according to most reports of the era the suicides were mostly urban legend, not withstanding the desperation people felt as fortunes melted away in hours. I doubt they saw it as their patriotic duty, or an honor saving action to jump to their deaths.

As for today what a CEO earns has no impact on wages or even jobs for others, other than the jobs they provide. The left always seems to see wealth, instead of an ever changing and usually expanding base of capital, as just one big constant pot of money and the rich jumped in first and took it all leaving the rest of us just … change … and … hope?

Kinda makes you think of this one, heh?

Perhaps Barney Frank will lead by example.

Japanese CEO’s didn't commit Hari-Kari. That was for generals and political leaders. So instead of walking out of the budget talks in a huff Obama should have opened his belly.

People wonder why Mathews hasn’t done himself in. Possibly he hasn’t looked at his ratings.

I am wondering why the members of the propganda arm of the Democrat Party, a/k/a the main stream media are not doing likewise.

Chris Matthews and Robert Reich...in the same room...talking about suicide? Typical liberals...all talk and no action.

I think the silver lining here is the fact that there is an employment program in the broadcast media for the truly delusional.

The only problem is that Matthews’ personal insanity actually makes it to air, and there are other alumni from state hospitals eager to soak it all up.

Gone are the days you could simply lock Uncle Chrissy in the basement until the company was gone...

Chris Matthews is of retirement age, along with other democrat politicians.

They should retire like regular Americans do, but they’re addicted to their money and power.

I actually know people who watch MSNBC, and they are as demented as Chris Matthews.

I try to avoid these people, but some of them are in the family.

It’s amazing to me that this clueless liberal a$$ clown has ANY venue for spewing his ignorance... so by this idiot’s assertion, the only purpose of businesses is to make the jug-eared moron’s “economy” (not America’s) look as if it is improving. Take your own advice, Prissy...

Well, they have to blame someone. Big business is a traditional scapegoat, so why not?

CEO’s are doing less damage to the country than the 535 + 1 in Washington....or would that be 535 + 0....

The average Peace Corp punk like Matthews has no business commenting on the economy. I had a college roommate who joined the Peace Corp. He was a brilliant guy who majored in English. His IQ was off the charts, but he was spectacularly incapable of rational thought. Logic simply eluded him. He was the kind of guy you want as jury foreman if you are ever on trial.

2009 - Previous reports put Matthews’ annual salary at about $5 million

MSNBC host Chris Matthews on Wednesday compared tea party activists to “hoodlums in the ‘30s in another country” and asked when they will start wearing uniforms.

I gotta wonder when people are gonna start wearing uniforms,” he said. “I mean they’ve got an army out there in Alaska of militia people.

“You’ve got these guys going around acting like street thugs,” the MSNBC host added. “I mean it isn’t far from what we saw in the thirties, where all of a sudden, political parties started showing up in uniform.”

My family too.

When obama gave the speech that Israel should go back to the pre-1968 borders, a woman in the extended family said she agreed with EVERYTHING he said in the speech.

She watches MSNBC.

Once I asked her how she got to be such a big liberal. She looked me right in the eye...and said she's an INDEPENDENT.

(BTW, in her own life she's a tightwad, yet she votes for these big-spending liberals.)
