A yes vote would have legitimized the conflict because part of the bill was authorization for the conflict. Obama could have used a yes vote as authorization by congress.”=====

The House of Representatives voted NO on authorization.
They voted YES to fund it.

What am I missing here that they are saving the Republic by continuing the war funding? A little howling that they were ignored utterly by Obama, and it’s all pockets to fund his agenda?

It's legislative trickery. The bill that they killed earlier in the day would have authorized everything. The second bill, the one this article refers to, defunded the bomb dropping but authorized surveillance, search and rescue, refueling NATO aircraft (which they can't really do on their own). It was a stealth authorization. There is another bill to cut ALL funding. That's the one we want.
