On Friday, the Obama administration issued a memo announcing that federal immigration officials do not have to deport illegal aliens if they are enrolled in any type of education program, if their family members have volunteered for U.S. military service, or even if they are pregnant or nursing.

This new policy of “prosecutorial discretion” was quietly announced on Friday afternoon, and completely ignored by the mainstream press.

He can issue ‘executive orders’ telling people not to enforce the law?

It’s good to be the king

Outrageous. The Republicans should shame the media into publicizing this dictatorial decree. Every candidate for President should give this a center spot in their stump speeches.

This is what John Podesta from Soros Center for American Progress Advised him to do after November election losses. By-pass congress.

Use executive orders and increased regulations (EPA), DOJ ignores laws he doesn't like (DOM)

Any president that instructs an executive department to ignore the laws enacted by congress is violating his oath of office.

So far Obama has ignored the War Powers Act, and now this. I think the War Powers Act is probably unconstitutional, but ignoring it is not the way to prove that point.

If Bush had done either of these things there’d be impeachment hearings.

We can't depend on politicians to turn our Country around. We have to do it ourselves. You've got an email list, you can log into forums, You can post to Facebook, etc. I sent this article to everyone I know last evening.

Dream on. We would never be where we are today without years of Republican complicity.

Shame died in the 60's. How would Boner do that exactly?

Reading through the original document is unbelievable, and would almost be funny if it were not so frighteningly true.

The disclaimer sounds like those wonderful little lightspeed readings following the drug ads, with all of the possible side effects raced through : / Kind of a, “Well, if you take it and end up worse off, it is not our fault, because we told you about it”, situation. And strangely enough, it seems to say upfront that they really have no authority to do this, but they are doing it anyway : o

“”Disclaimer
As there is no right to the favorable exercise of discretion by the agency, nothing in this memorandum should be construed to prohibit the apprehension, detention, or removal of any alien unlawfully in the United States or to limit the legal authority of ICE or any of its personnel to enforce federal immigration law. Similarly, this memorandum, which may be modified, superseded, or rescinded at any time without notice, is not intended to, does not, and may not be relied upon to create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law by any party in any administrative, civil, or criminal matter.””

May God give us strength to get to 2012, and the ability to choose wisely.
Tatt

If it’s brought up at every interview by the mainstream media they will have to address it.

What is the probability a GOP-lead Congress would demonstrate an iota of patriotic leadership and impeach TraitorBarry?

Less than the probability of measuring a fraction of Planck time.
