Amplify Your Influence: You Too Can Be an Astroturfer!
Coach is Right ^ | 6/15/2011 | Basil Irmin

I’m writing this to encourage others to make the effort to amplify their influence like I do.

Ever since I began contributing online, I’d made a conscious decision to establish free accounts at media websites from which original articles were sourced so I could cut and paste some of my more carefully constructed comments to many different sites.

By doing this, I feel I can increase my own tiny influence just a little bit more.

I would encourage everyone to consider doing the same. It takes just a couple of minutes to sign up on most media websites, and most media sites allow use of existing google, facebook, twitter and other pre-existing social networking accounts for this purpose.

it seems they disable comments if/when comments negative of leftist antics are made...case in point, the
WI SC shoot down of judge SueMe. comments had been running 5-1 against demonrats this morning, now it appears comments section is gone...

A letter to the editor can change a thousand minds, if it has good information.

If the goal is truly to get the words out to the most people, why the excerpt?

In defense of the BlogPimp, if the excerpt is too short to judge the quality of the ideas and of the writing (or if both fall short), I don't follow the link. If the writing justifies following the link, then he deserves the blog hits. Even with those who post the entire blog, I follow the link if their writing merits the blog hit, so he gets the blog hits that he earned. I think some on FR are a little too negative toward the blog hit motive. For more on this topic, see the ongoing discussion at www.WorldsBestBlogSite.com

That may be your opinion, but the owner of Free Republic thinks differently.

I have no complaint if a good conservative blogger posts his own material to FR, not as an excerpt to drive hits and discussion back to his blog, but rather to impart useful information to OUR readers and to promote and join in on the discussion and conservative activism HERE on FR.

If a blogger can’t or refuses do that, and if he constantly complains or fights with our participants over it, then I’d just as soon he doesn’t post here. It’s not my job to make his content or his presentation or cooperation acceptable to our readers. That’s his job. And if he cannot do it or refuses to do it and continues posting brief excerpts only and obviously attempting to draw away our participants while loudly complaining about it, then I have no sympathy for his complaints and the more apt I am to ban his account and blog.

No problem for the blogger to include a link. And if people like what the read, they can search the that blog for other articles.
