If this doesn't mobilize the biggest of protests, we might as well just pack up all the flags and surrender. I am outraged like I have never been outraged before.
Seems the County guys admit that they don't have enough to do so they participate in "dangerous" search warrant services.
What if the homeowner had appeared with a gun to protect his family from the home invastion, SWAT would have been all too happy to unloaded on him.
I just don’t understand how this is even possible in our country. Very sad.
There are MANY people in default on student loans from this craptastic economy Obama is reigning over. Many will have a fear button hit in them and it will turn to anger where there wasn’t anger before. At Obama.
He is being very foolish allowing the DOE to pull this crap. THIS may cause riots before food and gas prices do.
At least they didn’t shoot him 60+ times in front of his kids...
Well, since the federal government took over student loans, the days of bill collectors are gone I guess and SWAT teams will be sent instead. The article says they were federal agents from the DoE’s Office of Inspector General...why the hell does DoE even have law enforcement officers? Scary scary stuff.
I read the story and couldn’t find where it was in reference to student loans. I am completely opposed to the department of education having any sworn law enforcement officers, but could this be some kind of criminal matter like embezzelment, theft, or fraud? If so it should be FBI. But before this goes revolutionary, where does it say it was over an unpaid student loan?
I wonder if Obama is going to say that the Federal Department of Education SWAT Team “acted stupidly”...
At the end of the video the reporter says, Stockton PD provided one patrol car, the door was not kicked in and they were never held against their will. Something here is very screwy.
The story as given is confusing. I gather that this guy’s estranged wife is the person who owes DOE money. But she doesn’t live there.
Of course, anyone who has tried to tell some branch of a federal bureaucracy that someone no longer lives there will realize that any such communication is pretty hopeless.
Questions arise. Is the victim of this outrage a gun owner?
Does he have a history of violent behavior? Why a SWAT team and not a process server or a sheriff’s officer?
I might understand backup being present and available if the first two answers were yes. But an assault team seems beyond the pale, even in that case.
A full explanation needs to be forthcoming from all concerned, and a massive lawsuit filed.
I think this is outrageous! And my liberal co-workers don’t think anything is wrong!
I said that after the Courts decided that “no knock warrants’ and “cops don’t need a warrant if they are suspicious” , that things were going to get bad quickly.
Then the SWAT team murder squad in Tucson last month seemed to prove that out, and that it was only a (short) matter of time before things get completely out of hand.
At least the Pima Co. Sheriff’s SWAT team thought that they were dealing with a dangerous bad guy.
But never did I imagine that Sallie Mae would be sending out SWAT to collect overdue student loans.
Not only do we have a dusky hued Marie Antoinette living in the white house, Barry 0bama seems to be instituting a Reign of Terror to keep us peasants off balance, while at the same time handing out bread (and cake)to the ones he likes.

"This new change in policy by the government and Department of Education, primarily when the country is in one of the largest unemployment and economic recessionary periods in our history, shows the absolute disconnect between the government and the people."
I remember when this was a sane country and the government used to garnish people’s wages and/or seize their tax refunds if they owed money and were not paying it back...
Did they spare the dog this time?
