"Kenneth Wright does not have a criminal record and he had no reason to believe a S.W.A.T team would be breaking down his door at 6 a.m. on Tuesday."

I think this is outrageous! And my liberal co-workers don’t think anything is wrong!

If they kick in your door they are not going to allow you to leave the house therefore you are being held against your will at gunpoint. This shit is so stupid how many citizens are going to be killed before they finally rise up and meet the swat team at the door?

Actually, the Stockton Police are saying THEY (the Stockton Police) did not kick in his door or hold him against his will.

They did not deny that his door was kicked in and they did not deny he was held against his will.

I said that after the Courts decided that “no knock warrants’ and “cops don’t need a warrant if they are suspicious” , that things were going to get bad quickly.

Then the SWAT team murder squad in Tucson last month seemed to prove that out, and that it was only a (short) matter of time before things get completely out of hand.

At least the Pima Co. Sheriff’s SWAT team thought that they were dealing with a dangerous bad guy.

But never did I imagine that Sallie Mae would be sending out SWAT to collect overdue student loans.

Not only do we have a dusky hued Marie Antoinette living in the white house, Barry 0bama seems to be instituting a Reign of Terror to keep us peasants off balance, while at the same time handing out bread (and cake)to the ones he likes.

Another good OP/ED article here on the topic -

http://www.examiner.com/finance-examiner-in-national/failure-to-pay-back-student-loans-can-now-lead-to-arrests-by-dept-of-education

"This new change in policy by the government and Department of Education, primarily when the country is in one of the largest unemployment and economic recessionary periods in our history, shows the absolute disconnect between the government and the people."

I remember when this was a sane country and the government used to garnish people’s wages and/or seize their tax refunds if they owed money and were not paying it back...

Even the FDA has their own SWAT team.

Sending TSA to a high school prom is beyond the pale, too, but the District of Criminals is doing it anyway.

That’s the point,,, there is no criminal charge related to a defaulted loan. But there are charges that can cause arrest if you for example, commit outright fraud. If this was just over a default, there should be many more examples. The truth will come out soon,,,, either way.

Also from the article.
"The Office of Inspector General does not engage in the collection of student loans. Our mission is to conduct criminal investigations related to the programs and operations of the U.S. Department of Education, which include the student financial aid programs. We can confirm that we executed a search warrant at the residence, however our policy is not to discuss details of our on-going work."
Most likely this is about fraud, not someone's defaulted loans. I would expect a more responsible article from Malkin's site.

Let’s assume you are correct, and the DOE decided to swear out a criminal warrant for fraud against this woman. It is more likely than not that the ‘fraud’ is related to her non-payment of student loans.

In your opinion, does such a fraud warrant signed not by a judge, but by an unelected official of the executive branch of our government, justify a ‘no-knock’ SWAT raid at 6:30 am at a house in which the subject of the warrant does not reside? Does it justify handcuffing and detaining a non-violent, non-resisting person who is NOT the subject of the warrant?

Given what I have seen and heard about the Dept. of (mis)Education, I think that I would revise 2 of your 3 ‘R’s and have “Race”, “Raidin” and “Ritalin” as more properly describing this obscene out-growth from the formerly obscene HEW (Health, Education & Welfare) [Thank you James Earl Carter].

The U.S. Department of Education issued the search and called in S.W.A.T for his wife’s defaulted student loans.

“They busted down my door for this,” Wright said. “It wasn’t even me.”

Is the victim of this outrage a gun owner? Does he have a history of violent behavior? ... I might understand backup being present and available if the first two answers were yes.

It would seem that you consider being a gun owner justification for gestapo tactics.
