The very fact that the Arab American Institute is so head over heels for Mitch Daniels automatically sends up a red flag of alarm.
Key excerpts from the AAI article:
["...Most recently, some prospective candidates have been engaging in a crass effort to take advantage of the equally ill-conceived fear surrounding what is being called Shariah creep (an imaginary ploy allegedly by Muslims to gradually supplant the Constitution with Islamic law)."
"For example, former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty has shut down a Minnesota banking program which allows potential homeowners mortgages to be in compliance with basic tenets of Islamic law, despite the programs initial driving force being Pawlentys own push to increase minority home ownership."
Sharia Law was the deciding factor cited by Pawlentys spokesperson as an explanation for shutting down the program."
"In contrast, Daniels has refused to descend into this type of bigoted pandering, and has instead offered an unconventional, sobering approach with a heavy focus on the chief fiscal issues facing the country."]
Contrary to what the AAI writer Omar Tewfik asserts, creeping Shariah, part of the stealth jihad, is not an "imaginary ploy" or threat.
Pamela Geller has more on the award Daniels received from this notorious Islamist group.
As far as what the AAI article said about Pawlenty, here's the part they didn't speak of:
["...as Governor of Minnesota, his Housing Finance Agency set up a Shariah compliant lending fund to enable Muslims to buy homes without paying interest (the state paid it and they paid the state back through a lease-purchase deal)."
"After eighteen months, he ended the program. He claims he didnt know about it. Didnt know? There were protests at every Agency meeting. Eileen and I wrote about it in Catastrophe which sold 300,000 copies! If he didnt know, hes a bad Governor. If he knew, hed be a bad president."]---Krauthammer
There are other red-flags concerning Daniels.
For example, when Daniels was recently asked who he would like as a VP were he to become the Republican nominee, he answered "Condi Rice".
Oh really?
Condi Rice is as rino as they come. See the following previous posts concerning Condi Rice:
From January 2008- "Condi Rice for VP? Think Again
March 2008-"Condi's Misplaced Zealotry"
"Condi's Jihad Against Israel: Best Diplomat the PLO Ever Had"
From March 2010-
"Condi's Lebanon Legacy: A More Dangerous Hizbullah Islamic Terror"
This just in:
Former 1st Lady Laura Bush has phoned Mitch Daniels's wife, apparently in an effort to lobby her to urge Mitch to run.
That should speak volumes.
No to Mitt and no to Mitch.
Not to mention, Daniels is a Bushie.
Two strikes against him before he's even announced.

newsbusters:
Experience tells us that the Republican presidential candidate the media prefer is the one they believe is most easily defeated.
On this weekend's "Chris Matthews Show," seven of the twelve regulars said Mitch Daniels "has the best shot to overcome his obvious flaw" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
CHRIS MATTHEWS: We put it to the Matthews Meter, twelve of our regulars including Howard, Katty and Norah, Which candidate has the best shot to overcome his obvious flaw? Well this is surprising I guess. Seven said Mitch Daniels. Three said John Huntsman, two, one each for Mitt Romney and one for Pawlenty

And the one they say wouldn’t stand a chance is the one they fear the most:
Like Sarah Palin.
It is absolutely amazing. Before Sarah came along as McCain’s VP, most Republican voters were terribly downcast. Many had resigned to make write in votes or set at home.
Sarah Palin energised and enthused the GOP base. She brought unity. It was Palin-mania. Without her, McCain would have been clobbered even worse.
Well Palin-mania is still strong. She won the Hot Air straw poll with more than twice as many votes as anyone else.
I like Palin, but the libs’ fear doesn’t mean she’s the most electable. The fact that she’s the last electable is shown by all the polls. I have a better chance than does Palin.
I am distressed by al this RINO talk. The day Daniels is too liberal something is wrong. Get over the fact that he is half Arab - and this is coming from a Zionist. He’ll be just fine for Israel.
Palin or Paul would be lucky to get 40% of the vote.
Sometimes I wonder if some of the “conservative” posters on this board are libs visiting here from the DU or Daily Kos, spreading a lib “operation chaos”.

BFL
Exactly. He loves the muslims. I would never vote for him.
