Finally, A Cabinet Secretary Concerned For Citizens
The Constitution Club ^ | 04-18-11 | A West Texas View

At least one of President Obama’s cabinet secretaries is concerned about the citizens of the USA. Yeah. He is working feverishly to accomplish his goal of automobile safety. We most certainly will owe this man a debt of gratitude and thanks for his unswerving and unselfish endeavor.

US Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood has something to be happy about.

“For all the carping I have to listen to over high gas prices I’m happy to be able to point to a silver lining,….Based on this latest study it looks like if we can get the price of gasoline up to around $9 a gallon we could virtually eliminate traffic fatalities.”

Doesn’t it just warm your heart to know this man cares about the overworked, downtrodden citizen. I could almost hug his neck. I mean this guy wants a $9/gallon price for American gas.

He is “a strong supporter of the President’s ban on offshore drilling, carbon taxes, and the ‘cap-and-trade’ emissions bill—anything that will help get prices up to where they need to be to change people’s decisions. A person driving himself wherever he wants whenever he wants is both inefficient and unsafe.”

How do you like the way he thinks? Isn’t he grand to have such a strong desire to drive up gas prices? I have no idea where that man lives, but I assure you he does not live in Texas where you may have to make a three hour round trip just to see a doctor. I’m sure all the citizens of west Texas will give him a slap on the back especially those in the Big Bend area. He is just so thoughtful.

“The sooner we can do away with such anti-social behavior the better off this country will be.”

Wow. I didn’t know driving my car where I want, when I want, was anti-social behavior. I best hurry up and stop driving to see my daughters. (A mere two hour around trip. There is no rapid transit, railroad, air line, subway or overhead rail. Greyhound doesn’t even go there.) Woe is me. I guess I’ll just have to be anti-social. Sorry Sec’t LaHood.

But, I keep wondering, where does President Obama come up with these people? Harvard?

“Where does Obama keep getting these people?”

He is getting them where he came from—the depths of Hell.

One way I’ve been able to accept the high gas prices a little bit more easily is to consider them a campaign contribution to Obama’s 2012 opponent.

LaHood is making $200,000 in salary to come up with the brilliant conclusion that it is “unacceptable” for Air Traffic Controllers to sleep while on duty. I could have come up with the same conclusion for $100,000.

In this case, the Republican Party.

Don’t you think La Hood makes the case for ‘progressive’ infiltration in the Republican party?
While we’re at it, these politicians were put in power by voters. Until we can convince THEM of their mistakes, we’re screwed.

The sooner Secretary Ray LaHood gets retired to obscurity, the better. In IL, LaHood was nothing more than a party hack that got promoted to his level of incompetence (see Peter Principle). Now he's just a bloviating PITA.
