Below is an email I sent yesterday to Speaker Boehner.
Speaker Boehner:
The continuing resolutions agreed upon in the recent past and another being considered do not address the root cause of a burgeoning and out of control federal spending problem. Article 1 Section 8 provides the mechanism to balance the budget. Over many decades Congress has exceeded the enumerated powers granted to this body in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution.
Regulating the environment, communications, education, food, drugs, heath, agriculture, alcohol, tobacco, firearms are not enumerated powers granted to Congress. All federal agencies that are not in compliance with any of the enumerated powers in Article 1 Section 8 must be abolished. Agencies that must be abolished include but are not limited to the EPA, FCC, Department of Education, FDA, DHHS, Department of Agriculture, BATFE. All are Unconstitutional on the federal level as those powers listed above are reserved to the states or to the people per the 10th Amendment.
Abolishing these Unconstitutional agencies will not only return the federal government to the limited government principles the founding fathers intended when they wrote the Constitution but also drastically reduce federal spending thereby balancing the budget.
Any other attempt to reduce federal spending that does not require complying with the Constitution is a farce. You swore to uphold the Constitution. That is your primary function. Do your job or the Tea Party movement will vote you out of office come November 2012.

If Boehner isn't willing to shut 'er down over the measely $67 billion or whatever pittance this last compromise was, how does he ever hope to tackle the budget? If not over this tiny little amount it may already be too late.
I don't believe we can wait two more years. Maybe we need a new Speaker today.

Now AT has quite a clear message for the R’s right there.
Someone on their staff will read that, right ?
They a) think the economy and tax revenues will come back because of “”””” the business cycle ???”””” (which is meaningless)
and b) have no idea how bad things are
and c) think that Repubs will donate and vote for any Repub - sorry no
and d) talk about “getting things done” and bi-partisanship which drives conseratives utterly batty - it is idiotic the Fed gov’t is completely BROKE

There was no American Thinker, NRO, Red State, Sweetness and Light, Lucianne, Free Republic, etc etc. Folks still got their daily news from a handful of national newspapers or magazines. One of those magazines was recently sold for a dollar. In 95, it was an opinion mover. FreeRepublic - part of history...

Thank You, Thank You, Mr Edmund Wright for exactly the proper perspective, even touching on the personal psychological distortion created by the centralization of Washington DC.
The US federal government could be dismantled to 60% of its contemporary authority and revenue, then get its priorities in order (like enforcing legal immigration), and we as honest taxpaying citizens, would all be better off.
This is especially true in this era of open information by which enterprise competition and availability could prevail and provide. How obvious is it that fear (e.g. media sensation) and guilt (Obama) are the only levers of control that centralized government have left?
We don't know John Boehner, but it certainly appears he has descended into the abyss of political careerism just like ALL of Washington DC. Thus the Tea Party.

Some 19th (or 18th) Century Statesman said war was too important to be left to generals. Can't remember who it was, but the point being that generals were to close to the thing to grasp the strategic view.
Well ditto politics. I think politics is too important to be left to politicians.
And as long as I'm at it. I think law is too important to be left to lawyers.
And what's more, I think the most important thing our congressvolk and senators can do is prevent the passage into law of good ideas. (We should be so lucky to be saved from people with good ideas.)
In fact the law is so important that it should be well nigh impossible to create a new law.
What's more we should bring back the ancient Greek practice of ostracism for public figures. Once a year vote on who should be ostracized and the top ten or one hundred vote getters are ostracized - for at least a decade minimum.
That would flush things out.
Oh yes, never reelect anyone. Or their relatives.
And Mark Twain's and H.L. Mencken's thoughts on politics and politicians should be required reading with a test after wards to qualify for voting. (Probably ought to include Groucho Marx and Will Rogers Daniel Defoe and at least one good Roman satirical poet im the mix of reading.)

I just went to Congress.guv and went to Boehners web page. Sent him a note telling him to cut or gut govt spending or I’ll switch to the Conservative party.
Told him to grow or buy a set of balls if he needed any to stand up to the likes of chuckie schumer.

This reminds me of the story Dick Armey tells about a trip home to Texas shortly after he became Speaker of the House. One of the people he called on was the lady who had been his Sunday School teacher years and years ago. He had always remembered her and was most anxious to see her and show her how far he had gone. He said she listened attentively to him as he described what an important position he held and so on and so forth. When he was all through she just looked at him and replied “That's nice Dick, but you know it's NOT about you.” She then went on, in typical Sunday School teacher fashion, how it's not about US, it's about the Lord.
He says he was very humbled after that little experience! I think there's a LOT of people in Washington these days who could benefit from some time with that Sunday School teacher!

Ah, more conservative 'porn'. How about asking this question: what has occurred over the l7 years since FR was launched, or the 23 years since Rush has been on the air?
Your first & most egregious mistake was to assume Reps actually provide representational services. You see, it really is about Boehner ... and Pelosi, et al. That is, they have achieved the height their respective careers.
The crucial idea to understand is that Congress is like a business. Those who succeed enjoy lifestyles, current and future, that provide rewards far in excess of your typical private business.
Until people figure out that these people in no way represent their interests, and simply lie in order to get elected by whichever constituency buys their line - whether it is welfare or warfare - then we will continue to see FedGov increase in scope & control.
