Nato IS the US

There has never been a Nato operation that has not been primarily led, staffed, armed, and directed by the United States. In fact, European reticence, led to the US leadership in Bosnia/Kosovo right in Europe's own back yard.

Nato is, and always has been, led by the US military and has never had a Supreme Commander that is not a U.S. general or admiral.

Currently, Admiral James Stavridis is the SACEUR (Supreme Allied Commander Europe)and simultaneously head of EUCOM (European Command) which is the fighting arm of our military in Europe, controlling all the forces. The head of the Africa Command, Carter Ham, is recently the Commanding General of USAREUR, US Army Europe, whose boss was Stavridis, and whose boss remains, in this NATO operation, Stavridis.

And the truth be told, both Stavridis' EUCOM and Ham's AfricCom are headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany. Furthermore, they essentially "share" the same European fighting troops, but Stavridis as the SACEUR is the higher command with his leadership of Nato.

So, when Ham or Stavridis want planes, ships, or troops, they have their own. And they're all US troops.

Nato or US led...we're being forced to think there is some huge difference.

A distinction without a difference.

2/3 of sorties flown over Libya were US. All but 20 or so Tomahawks were US. And if we do go ashore? 90% of the blood shed will be American...NATO my fat Presbyterian ass!

If you put the United Nations in charge, they’ll be giving Khadaffi a peace prize and head of the human rights watch in his own country.

They couldn’t lead a live fish to the nearest water.

The only thing clear to me is that Obomber broke THE LAW by doing this without Congressional authorization.

Congress doesn’t “give advice” on offensive military operations....humanitarian reasons or not.

It gives PERMISSION and AUTHORIZATION.

They need to read the freakin’ constitution.

And the media is criminal on the Law thing: especially Fox News which is just babbling the party line along with the others.

They’re as useless as bandaids in a morgue.

xzins,
Once in a while it rains for a week or two here.
Canals overflow their banks and walking catfish are stuck when the water recedes.
Rather interesting to see Walking Catfish scurrying across your yard.
They walk til they find water by themselves.

Walking catfish.

Surprised the EPA has banned humans from their habitat.

“Your yard is being seized by the US government on behalf of walking catfish.”

And then the UN will move in with Blue Hats to exert world authority over all you own.

You might wanna stay mum about the walking catfish.

I’ll keep quiet on any reception any blue helmets might receive should they show up on my door step.

Deserves repeating over and over. It just shows how stupid the ruling elite think we are. Command and control, intelligence, logistics, etc. are all run by the US and we are still flying the bulk of the missions. The US spends more on defense than the rest of NATO combined. The shift to NATO control is just a semantic game. I guess it depends on what the meaning of “is” is.
