Fed instructs teachers to Facebook creep students

Education Department officials are threatening school principals with lawsuits if they fail to monitor and curb students’ lunchtime chat and evening Facebook time for expressing ideas and words that are deemed by Washington special-interest groups to be harassment of some students.

There has only been muted opposition to this far-reaching policy among the professionals and advocates in the education sector, most of whom are heavily reliant on funding and support from top-level education officials. The normally government-averse tech-sector is also playing along, and on Mar. 11, Facebook declared that it was “thrilled” to work with White House officials to foster government oversight of teens’ online activities.

how on earth is that queer agenda driven Jennings going to know what is being said anyway unless they have their spies out.

Also why do I think that this is more to do with kids who were taken by homosexuals and they don’t want these kids being told by other kids that it’s not normal to have and see two men in bed, to see two men kissing and touching each other and have two dads or women for that fact

As many drunk-ass teachers post their vacation photos on facebook, this could be a barrel of unintended consequences...

I have no doubt those same officials sported one of these while bonging their way through college.

I’m of two minds. If the kids have taken teachers as friends, they have made what goes up there public. Maybe this will start making them conscious that they have no privacy if they don’t consciously work on it. Teens post the most incredible stuff up there and then get all torqued when people read and act on it. Someday, potential employers may be reading that stuff. OTOH, Zero’s stormtroopers should be given no quarter.

If I caught a teacher on my kids facebook page I would report them to the police.

Maybe the best way to fight this - all the parents go to the facebook pages of the teachers, and start screwing with them - maybe facebook creep the teachers - if they are partying, or old pictures of them partying - get them removed from teaching.

But start with the administrators.

I don’t do social media but I do know that facebook settings can be set to private. How is a block captain teacher going to know what’s going on if they can’t access the page?

“Please let me know if you find out.”

Post #8 is an informative link, but unless you find the dwarfed and warped personality of social networking abusers to be of interest, don’t bother.

All I can say, WTF ! We have a 12 year old and I have not permitted him to get a FB account yet. My wife and I each have one but not him ! Like his dad (me), he has gotten in trouble for petty things with the various authorities !

Being of schizoid personality disorder myself (preferring objects to people; reclusive and socially avoidant), I’ll never understand the social networking thing.

Surficially fixated solipsism versus substance.

Tweets between twits will never replace real communication.
