The only successful recall that I can remember was California. I don’t think that they should change the rules because when there is a time to really get someone out, there won’t be a mechanism except for the next election. It takes a ton of signatures to get a recall going. I think we need to trust the folks of Wisconsin for doing the right thing.

They want more time to raise big money for the recalls of GOP legislators.

Perhaps a Christine O'Donnell-like Fund Drive should be started to get some millions of dollars into Wisconsin to fight back.

“The Corner”

“So Much for ‘Imperial’ Walker’s Inflexibility”

“For weeks now, a Democratic talking point against Wisconsin governor Scott Walker has been that he is a “tyrant.” Day after day, protesters dressed in Star Wars costumes have bemoaned the “imperial” Walker, decrying his unwillingness to negotiate over his plan to scale back collective-bargaining rights for most government employees.

Yesterday, the Walker empire struck back. Responding to an open-records request by a local media outlet, Walker released a series of e-mails indicating that his staff has been negotiating with the Democratic state senators in exile to bring them back to Wisconsin for a vote on his plan. Walker’s staff e-mails show that the governor was willing to give a little on salary caps, on bargaining workplace safety, on how often unions have to recertify, and other items in the bill. In a press conference earlier this week, Walker had said he thought several times in the past few days that there had been a deal struck.

Backed into a corner, Democrats are now forced to feign outrage that Walker would release the details of their negotiations. In fact, they refuse to call them “negotiations,” preferring the more tepid term “discussions.” Yet it seems unlikely Walker would send his staff to fast-food restaurants across the border because they make better Egg McMuffins in Illinois.

The Democrats are, in effect, now arguing that Walker is being unreasonable by being reasonable. By calling their bluff, Walker has exposed their line about his “inflexibility” as a pure hot air. Their current stance amounts to “we’re against anything that might make Scott Walker look good.”

Some have gone so far as to say the negotiations with Walker are now dead. So, for those keeping score at home, Democrats have twisted themselves into the following untenable syllogism: They said Walker would not negotiate, but because he showed that he would, they now can’t negotiate with him.

It is worth noting, incidentally, that while the public favors cutting a deal, Walker’s supporters might not be so...........”

I bet Wisconsinites could come up with some good billboards.

If the GOP pulled this in any state legislature, the MSM would be carrying the charge for the Left.

If this recall goes on the ballot, it’s going to be interesting to watch.

My township had a successful recall election just before the California recall took place. We booted the entire board 3 months before a new election was to take place. Our recall is what helped the Californians with their recall. Before our recall I believe you have to go back to the 1920’s or 30’s to see another successful recall.

The leader of state Senate Republicans says dots are being connected on efforts to recall some of his members. State Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald

For years Presidents have campaigned for people in their respective political party. They do all of that on the tax payer's dime. If recall efforts are coming out of the WH for a state level politician of the other party, that would obviously be unethical but is there a law prohibiting it? If there is, shouldn't then there be a law that prohibits a president from campaigning for any state level politicians?

Paul Horcher back in 1995 was an example of a successful recall in California prior to Gray Davis’ promotion to private employment.

I don’t have an answer for that drypowder. But by taking this route, there could well be some unintended consequences for the Left.

Their recall efforts need to get as much coverage as humanly possible. The country needs to see how far the Left is willing to go to short-circuit the voters (much like they do through activist judges overturning voters). And if the Left is successful, I hope a sleeping electorate is awakened and that those who truly rate being recalled will have the voters coming after them tooth and nail.

This game can be played by both sides and we need to start drawing up a list.

[The DNC and the DCCC are also paying for the 14 Wisconsin Democratic senators to stay out of Wisconsin till as late as August when the recall election process is achieved.]

So the pregnant rat plans to give birth to her baby in IL without her own doctor and then take it back to a hotel? They must be paying her a small fortune. I have a suspicion that she is holes up in her own house though.

If the media does not report it, it is as if it did not happen. They will report nothing that will help Walker.

1995 is about the same time as our recall here. We had a township meeting when they rammed some stuff through and said they did not care what we wanted. They also said they had the legal right to do it. I was at one meeting and they had to call six more police cruisers in for protection from less than 600.
