Potatoes are fantastic, they will grow anywhere and are perfect for the colder weather expected in the next ice age.
Yes and they are bountiful in small plots. Get a variety of types so you don’t succumb to blight like my Irish ancestors who relied on just the lumper potato.

There is a difference between citing the Old Testament Covenant as instruction in what to do, and citing the Old Testament to illustrate the character of God.
Obviously, Hebrews 13:8 shows that the character of God does not change, as does Malachi 3:6.
And obviously, there is value in the Old Testament to modern Christians, per 2 Timothy 3:16.

Nonsense. Do the math. There are a little over 3,000 counties in the USA. The National Guard consists of 26 brigades of 3-4,000 each, lets say 120,000 combat troops, tops. The rest work in adminstrative and support roles and would already be busy trying to keep logistical support and basic services going. That equals about 1 platoon of 40 troops per county. Of course they wouldn't be spread out evenly throughout the country. The bulk would be deployed in major cities guarding key installations; water and electric plants, refineries, ports, airports, major government buildings, etc. As for the Army, even if they were all brought home immdiately they would be in much the same situation. The average person would probably never see any NG or Army troops, much as they might wish they would. Police ands sheriffs are already spread thin, and would be overwhelmed if they didn't just take a powder to protect their own families, as many did during Katrina. In some counties sheriffs mights be able to deputize citizens (at least those who own guns!) into posses, which would probably be the best chance of maintaing order. Otherwise, you would basically be on your own against the desparate unprepared masses, especially those who are already criminals and would be the first to adapt to the realities of anarchy.

Our nuclear deterrent is (slowly) being transferred from bombers and silos to nuke boats. They are next to impossible to find, and nearly impossible to track if you are able to find them. The SSBN force sails with its patrol orders already written, and can patrol and attack without direct communication. When they recieve word that the balloon has gone up, their response is pre-determined.
The number of operational warheads that the US can put on target exceeds Russia’s operational deterrent, and exceeds China by a country mile. Even with a fool like Obama, any nuclear strike on the US would be met with canned sunshine.

Not gonna happen. I know a decent number of LEOs, soldiers and ex-soldiers. Not one would ever consider firing on US citizens fighting for their God given rights...unless fired on first....and even then maybe not.
If the SHTF, few of them would report. They'd be home protecting their families. And the police officers would be protecting the citizens of their towns from government troops.
Now...if people riot and loot...different story. But I and no one I know has any intention of doing anything so stupid. We are prepared.
