Juan Williams accuses Palin of being defensive and making shooting about herself

Juan Williams accuses Palin of being defensive and making shooting about herself. On the day after Sean Hannity’s first TV interview with Sarah Palin in the wake of the Arizona shooting, her critics (who won’t be swayed no matter what) are turning out in droves to discredit her simply out of spite and ideology. On Fox News, perhaps none may be more so inclined at the moment than one Juan Williams, who appeared on the same program to “analyze” what he thought of Palin’s sympathetic reasoning. In his mind, her Hannity interview showed her as being overly defensive and obsessed with turning the national story of the shooting into one that was all about herself instead.

I once worked for a company where several people who worked there were opposed to them hiring me. It was a silly thing about a computer programming disagreement but they let it color their every action toward me for 10 plus years.

One of their favorite tricks was to attribute some very false, stupid statement or action to me. When I spoke up to expose the lie they would immediately go from accusing me of doing or saying whatever the lie de jour was for that round and start the drumbeat that I was too defensive. Frankly, I never figured out how to handle the ploy. It was a classic “damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't” trap.

And that's exactly what we're seeing here with Sarah and her detractors.

Biggest mistake FOX has ever made: falling for the NPR BS. Now they have an in-house RAT puppet repeating the daily KOS and DNC talking points ad nauseum. Never hire anyone you can’t fire. They are stuck with this jackass until he decides to retire.

When Juan was accused of being a bigot - he rapidly jumped to his own defense and is still showing emotion every time NPR is mentioned.

He, of all people, should know how it feels to be unjustly accused.

But, being a liberal, he cannot stop himself from criticizing a conservative.

Liberals like Whan aren’t used to politicians who fight back. Conservatives are just supposed to shut up and take it I guess.

I saw that @ hole on Fox yesterday. I think he is drunk from zero’s KOOLAID. He can take a leap at a rolling donut and I hope he hits it at full speed.

The MEDIA is the major culprit. The politicians certainly provide the rhetoric, but who disseminates it. Who disseminates it, after carefully spinning it, twisting it and filtering it to further their Leftist agenda? Without the media this coup would not have been possible.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Had Palin remained silent the loonies would have called her inconsiderate and worse. Now that she has defended OTHERS, she is being castigated as an opportunist.

I watched the entire exchange. What was really taking place was the new tone @ Fox News. Juan was playing the required conservative basher to Seann's conservative points. The topic being Palin and the speech / shootings left Juan no real basis for liberal logic to make a valid point, but one must still be made for purposes of civility, so Juan went on with the liberal rant.

You could actually see he had to struggle to keep it up, but he did.

He was whining like a baby when NPR fired him. I felt sorry for him...for about 12 seconds and then thought maybe he had learned a valuable lesson. Wrong, there. He disgusts me.

Hey Juan!
Did you get defensive about NPR firing you?

NPR was simply protecting Muslim’s civil rights.

Why did you make it all about YOU?

People see through their idiocy. It’s just other idiot libs that don’t.

PRAY that is true and that they continue to expose themselves for the evil that they are.

For my part, I no longer draw a distinction between media troopers and leftist politicians. They are all part of the same machine.

You know? Ordinarily I find Juan to be intelligent, and pretty level-headed for a leftist.

This is the stupidest thing he’s ever said.

Juan. Meet shark.

Shark, Juan.

Jump on Juan...

Juan was just doing what he’s told. He’s earning his paycheck by making the news entertaining. Making the news entertainment is bad makings for those who see it as a news construct. It’s very easy to do, as the line is quite blurry between news and news entertainment. What draws viewers is the news entertainment.

Fox were fools to hire him. He has zero following. I bet when he fills in as a guest host, ratings way down.

Juan Williams is Ed Mcmahon to Johnny Carson. Every conservative hosted newstainment show needs a counterbalance. That is why Juan was hired at Fox News full time.

I find by admitting that fact and saying “Yes I’m defensive about the fact that I’ve been falsely accused of “such and such”, now YOU are being defensive in that I’ve called you on those lies!” (then center on the 1 or 2 folks that seem to “ring lead” these issues)”But I tell you what, lets all go down to human resources to talk about our differences with each other...perhaps they’ll fire the whole lot of us!”

That type of approach usually puts the kibosh on such crap(at least it does for me), especially when your work output is good and no one can fault you on anything else substantive!

Did you find different employment and leave or were you forced out or was there a layoff?
