With the new RNC election last week, we saw the expulsion of Michael Steele, after he racked up a huge deficit while he came in with a sizable surplus. Steele was out by the end of the fourth round which left Priebus, Anuzis, Cino, and Wagner. Priebus finally won in the seventh round, beating Cino and Anuzis. With Priebus ready to set the stage for the 2012 races, is his appointment a good thing or a disaster?

Little early for judgment.
His name alone should have disqualified him.
I think he needs to change his name to John Smith
+1.
He’s fired some of Steele’s more wasteful staff, which is a good sign. We’ll have to see.
Well, let’s wait and see how Prince Rebus does before we judge him.
Individual candidates only, or PAC's I really trust (Fund for Growth, DeMint's Senate PAC).
If everyone did this, we could make the post of "RNC Chairman" irrelevant.
Deserves repeating: “Little early for judgment.”
I thought Reince Priebus was Toyota's newest hybrid.
too early but time is running.
Given the exceptionally low bar Steele set, I can't imagine Priebus (isn't that a Toyota hybrid?) looking like anything but a raging success.
Surely not someone with a national presence.
I'll hide & watch for now.
Amen and amen! For my money the day of the All-Powerful GOP is over. Like unions it had its place, but time has moved on and left the kind of Party it wants to be behind.
At this point I plan to sink or swim with Sarah Palin. Something could happen to change that, but for now she's my man. She's worth her weight in gold right now simply for the number of liberal heads she can cause to explode by either speaking, or not speaking.
I am in my 70’s, and have been interested in politics all my life. I can honestly say I have never known of a politician who has the effect on the process that Sarah does. Ronald Reagan came close, but either she's much more potent, or the MFM/Lefty cabal is much more mentally ill now, but whatever the reason, she drives them over the edge more completely and quickly than anyone I've ever seen!
The GOP as a whole is a complete disaster.
I’ve got to seriously question his judgment. Who would want that job?
Too early to tell. Michael Steele was promoted as the second coming when he was selected as RNC chairman two years ago. While I agree that it was time for Steele to leave, we’ll have to see how Priebus does.
So far, he hasn’t done a good job. /s
Me too.
But I’m still ticked off that we didn’t get Ken Blackwell last time around—he’s an actual conservative.
I’ll withold judgement on Prius until I see what he does.
It’s a performance issue, so we will have wait and pass judgement in some time.
we’ll have some indications of his character in 3 months and we will develop an opinion at the sixth month mark.
Hopefully it will be suporrtive as the GOP finally gets it.
If not, it will be standard fare or it will result in the death of the GOP.
Think fast guys or you will become irrelavent in due and short time.
Does not matter to us. We are only donating to individual “teaparty candidates” and/or Demint’s PAC fund which goes to consevative and teaparty candidates.
