NM candidate for governor says Republicans 'outnumbered'(Real story: She was "packing heat")

Alamogordo, New Mexico (CNN) – When CNN interviewed Susana Martinez, New Mexico's Republican candidate for Governor, we got a surprise. Our cameraman John Torigoe was trying to clip the microphone pack to the candidate's belt when she pulled away and said "Be careful, that's a gun back there." Martinez tells CNN she has a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

She was packing heat when she addressed a gathering in Alamogordo, New Mexico on Monday. She warned them not to get too confident because "as Republicans we're outnumbered."

Somewhat dated but I didn't see this reported earlier here on FR. The ABQ Journal previously reported in July that the former Doña Ana County district attorney (and now governor) holds a concealed carry license and favors a .380 pistol.

Gotta love this lady! She carried her own weapon because as a DA and effective prosecutor she put a bunch of the bad guys away, especially those who committed crimes against women and children. Now as Governor she has protection from the State Police. She's becoming NM's version of Sarah Palin.
