California Democrats seek approval from voters to grant amnesty

While the DREAM Act failed on a national stage, California State Democrats would like to skirt federal law and provide a pathway to citizenship for those who are illegally residing in the Golden State.

State Assembly Bill 78, written by Tony Mendoza (D-Arcadia) seeks to put an advisory measure on the state ballot asking California voters if they think the United States is responsible to grant amnesty to longtime illegal aliens currently living unlawfully inside America.

The Democrat’s proposed “pathway to citizenship bill” would give illegal aliens who have worked in the U.S. for five years, have no felony convictions, speak English and are current with all their taxes a chance to legalize their status.

The bill’s author, Mendoza claims the illegal immigration debate is front-page news across the country and says the nation's "broken immigration system" requires an overhaul that "rewards work, reunites families, restores the rule of law, reinforces immigrant workers and redeems the 'American Dream.'"

That was my question also. Are we also supposed to forgive long time criminals that haven’t been caught? This PC crap has got to stop before people get hurt.

Fantastic! Let them all migrate to CA and bleed their system. We will then know who they are. No other state needs to give full faith and credit to that lunacy.

Granting them amnesty in one state is defacto amnesty nationwide.

Maybe its time for a border fence around california.

“Maybe its time for a border fence around california.”

Maybe it it time to give California back to Mexico, but if we did that all of the Mexicans in California would move to Oregon.

Why give away more prime real estate than necessary? Throw a fence around sacramento, san francisco & LA.

California needs to be denied any and all federal tax money. They also need the national guard sent in to enforce ALL federal laws.

True enough. That's what decent Michiganders want to do to Detroit, Ann Arbor and Kalamazoo.

I totally agree. How can California take a Federal issue and make it a State issue?

They are not allowed to make it a State issue in Arizona.

This definitey has a greater impact on the rest of the nation than Arizona enforcing the law.

No state can grant citizenship. It’s the sole purview of the federal government. That’s why states don’t issue passports, for example.

Nevertheless, it’s really disconcerting that yet another public official has made it his business to represent Mexicans in California rather than Americans. It’s even more disturbing that there are so many Mexican nationals living in California that they’re able to elect their own to the legislature, whether through voter fraud, dual citizenship, or first generation anchor babies coming of age.

And it doesn’t help California’s desperate plight for other Americans to say “time for a border fence around California” when the Mexican colonization of a sovereign American state is the whole country’s problem, not just California’s.

We in California are powerless to enforce the border and deport aliens. When are the other 49 states going to get that and do something about it? And don’t say “When you stop electing Mexican politicians.” The occupiers have installed themselves at every level of state and city government.

So now what?
