For Palin there's no place like home...in a bad way (PPP Survey says she has 33% favorability in AK)

It's a well known fact that Sarah Palin is the most unpopular major political figure in the country...one thing that may be less well known is that one of the states where voters have the dimmest view of her is her own home state of Alaska.
We've polled Palin's favorability in ten states over the last couple months. In Alaska just 33% of voters have a favorable opinion of her to 58% with a negative one. The only place where fewer voters see her positively than her own home state is dark blue Massachusetts.
Democrats hate Palin in Alaska but they hate her everywhere so there's nothing newsworthy about that. What makes her home state numbers unusually bad is that Republicans see her favorably by only a 60/30 margin. In most places she's closer to 80% favorability within her own party. Also while independents don't like her anywhere their level of animosity in Alaska is unusually large- 65% unfavorable to only 25% with a favorable opinion.
It's not a coincidence that the 35% of the vote Joe Miller appears to have received in the Alaska Senate race is almost identical to the 33% who have a favorable opinion of Palin. Miller allowed himself to practically become a surrogate for Palin and while that was good for letting him pull off a primary victory by the slimmest of margins it was not so good for his prospects in the general election.
Palin's unpopularity in Alaska is an interesting sidebar but ultimately pretty irrelevant to a possible 2012 Presidential bid. What's more relevant is that a majority of voters in every single state we have polled so far on the 2012 race has an unfavorable opinion of her. And her average favorability in the Bush/Obama states of Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, and Virginia that are most likely essential to Republican chances of retaking the White House is 36/56. Democrats can only hope...
Here are Palin's state by state favorability numbers:

You know, you are right that the poll was dated 12/28. However, I just did a search of most of the words that could possibly be used as a title, and I was unable to find any previous thread posted that discussed this poll.
Obviously you read one, since you clearly say this has been posted numerous times.
Would you indulge an old man, and give me a link to one of those previous posts? Thanks.
There have been multiple posts about the CNN Gallup poll. I try to read all the threads about Sarah, so I found it odd that I hadn’t seen the multiple postings of this poll that you saw and discussed already.

We still are not going to support Mitt Romney, we tried to tell you that last election.

See post 37. By the way, to become Governor she knocked off a sitting Republican Governor, and defeated a two term Democrat Governor in the general, then as Governor she became the most popular Governor in America, and even after the worst national assault we have ever seen, she left office with 56% approval.

Anyone could’ve beat Frank Murkowski in 2006. Hell, Palin wasn’t even the only one to get more votes than Murkowski that year in the GOP primary as John Binkley did so as well.

I guess PPP needed some money or something. Who did they call, every lib in Alaska? I suppose in order to get attention, a poll about Newt or Huck is worthless.

Well, we now know what happened to "Baghdad Bob." He writes for these people.
After U.S. Troops Penetrated Central Baghdad: April 5, 2003, Baghdad Bob said:
"Nobody came here. Those America losers, I think their repeated frequent lies are bringing them down very rapidly....Baghdad is secure, is safe."

Anyone couldve beat Frank Murkowski in 2006. Nonsense, the two term, term limited Democrat Governor that she defeated in the general after taking out the Republican incumbent, proved that.

While Palin had an approval rating in the 80s early in her term as governor, by May 2009, her approval had dropped to a low of 54 percent. In other words, polls fluctuate so any polls taken today are meaningless.

Remember this state sent her royal highness, princess Murkowski back to Washington on write in votes. There are a lot of spoiled, greedy, and ignorant people up here who are easily lead down the garden path. What kind of people does giving away money attract and create?

I saw those threads, they were about the CNN poll, which is different than the PPP poll.
This was the first time I saw the PPP polling information here at FR. BTW, that one thread with the 12/29 date was about a poll conducted back before christmas; so it was rather old as well.
I generally don’t think of 2 days as being old, especially if they weren’t posted already.
To: Lazlo in PA
Ah, but I see your point. Both of those stories about the CNN poll also mentioned the PPP poll; it just wasn’t the headlines, so I didn’t notice.
I don’t generally follow these polling threads closely,...

It's a well known fact that Sarah Palin is the most unpopular major political figure in the country. That's odd. According to Gallup, she ranks as the second most admired woman in the country.

Unfortunately, she’s behind SHrillary Clinton. Which I find even more odd.

Sadly, this is the thinking of most Palin fans. They don't pay attention to facts.
