When people stop believing in God they start believing in Big Government and Obamaism

A new study has found that belief in a God may be inversely correlated to belief in Government.

A sense of political stability provides comforting reassurance that our world is orderly and controlled. So does belief in an all-powerful deity. This puts the two in a seesaw relationship: When one goes up, the other goes down.

Obviously people who live in chaotic and anarchic parts of the world and who subsequently live in squalor are more likely to be religious. And until a society reaches high levels of education and wealth religion is unlikely to lose its grip. However there is more to it than that:

In a second Canadian study, 79 participants read one of two articles ostensibly published in the journal Science. One stated that science increasingly believes in the existence of a God or God-like entity who is “continually making changes to alter the course of cosmic history.” The other explained that while God may exist, the laws of physics mean he could not interfere in man’s affairs.

Afterward, the participants answered a

sigh......

....possibly for some...the weak... but not necessarily written in stone as a given for non-believers, by any stretch of the imagination.

Interesting article. My personal observations back are not in conflict with the conclusions of the study.

A nation of sheep, we should not be.

A nation for those free, that’s what we used to be.

The idea that our rights come from God was intentionally inserted into our Founding documents and was unique. It was to create a society free from having men as masters, but they knew education and knowledge was key.

Our knowledge has been twisted by the Cultural Marxists/Progressives where people are being conditioned into accepting slavery (men as masters) and which is stripping all of our society from the belief in a God. This is intentional, because if there is no God, then man is the answer to everything. The most powerful will rule and determine what we think and what we can do.

Roger Scruton speculated that people who believed in paradise in the next world were perhaps less likely to go along with schemes to create it here, and maybe there’s some truth in it.

Lol!! There's a lot of truth in that, although you can know paradise both here and in the next world by knowing God. I don't know why being religious has to be associated with being downtrodden.

The endtimes will be waged between the God-fearing and the godless. This is why Christians will be persectuted at the end. It has already begun...society is clamping down on those who believe homosexuality is wrong, abortion is murder, and sex is to be saved for marriage. Soon you will be persecuted for these beliefs.

This article is incorrect. They actually constelate the god complex within them selves and become god. At that point they can adjust their morals to fit any situation.

Man is a worshiper.

Take away the God of Israel, and man will worship something else. Self, idols, money, pleasure, power, or government.

Ps. 2. In the end, God laughs.

true this nation was built as a “Christian nation” but it was also a nation that guaranteed individual freedom.

the individual freedom part is what keeps this country free whether those freedom lovers have a religious belief or not.

it is the need of handouts by the lazy coupled with the need for power by dhimmicrat politicians that have socialized America of late.

Individual freedom comes from Christian Theology that says everyone is a child of God...everyone is unique and special...even lepers, poor, etc.

Women’s rights and individual rights only exist where the fundamental philosophy was based on Christianity. It was unheard of to give dignity and worth to women, poor, slaves and servants until Christ. Jews helped by creating monogamy and monotheism but it was Christianity which gave equal worth to everyone, regardless of belief or station in life.

what constitution is that in?

with all do respect and coming from a Christian background, all I see in the meat of the founding documents of this country is the individual liberty....yes of course they give credit to God (not Christ)....nothing new there, but it is the freedoms that are guaranteed in the documents, including a freedom to worship and not a requirement.

I am sure that Jews and Hindus and Buddhists (no not Muslims) have no problem with individual liberty as practiced in our nation.

“The other explained that while God may exist, the laws of physics mean he could not interfere in man’s affairs.”

Wow. This really brings home the scripture that says “The fool has said in his heart, there is no God.” It shows such a deep misunderstanding for the Lord and His relationship to man. This “new study” must have been conducted by people who’ve never read the Bible nor have they ever fallen before the cross of Calvary and asked humbly for redemption. These are people who don’t understand the power of faith and prayer and the fact that God not only “interferes in man’s affairs,” but that He also “orders a man’s steps” and that all of creation is His.

As for me, I believe in God’s Word when it says that it is impossible for God to lie. That would make the author of this article, along with the rest of those who worship Communism, a liar. Now THAT’s not too hard to believe at all.

The basis was Natural Law Theory as described by Aristotle and Cicero before Christ—it also was the basis for private property and freedom of thought. Christianity, particularly through the extensive writings of St. Thomas Aquinas, aligned Catholic Theology to Natural Law Theory and expanded on it. He used reason and logic and science to “prove” that in no way did Natural Law Theory disagree with Catholic doctrine or visa versa. John Locke studied Aquinas’s work as well as that of Aristotle and Cicero and everyone who wrote on it. It was Aquinas who went to the original Greek of Aristotle, so his ideas, which had been twisted by other translations, could be assessed by him—and he was a genius. Catholicism is a reasoned religion, unlike most, which of course, is the foundation of all Christianity. Because it is based on Natural Law Theory it flourished in a land which based its government on Natural Law theory. Because of Aquinas, there was no conflict with the two philosophies.
