White Ants- The Marxist’s Greatest Ally

Long time readers might recall that it was a demonstration at Auckland University against the ACT political party just before the 1999 election that got me motivated in respect of NZ politics. I witnessed a large collection of neo-communists from the university shouting down, with a degree of hate and venom that appalled me, speakers from a political party that advocated a traditional liberal political viewpoint. Here we were in a university, where freedom of political expression should be sacrosanct and the Communists had such a grip on the political discussion, true liberals (or at least as close as NZ had to true liberals back then) were denied a voice.

I stood and watched this event with growing horror. The smugness and lack of respect exhibited by the neo-communists from Auckland University was astonishing. I immediately joined the local ACT party and did what I could to help them get elected. I participated in the NZ Herald discussion forum. I was amazed at the hate and intolerance my views produced. In fact in the end, the forum was shut down because leftists made it completely unusable by swamping it with hundreds of repetitive messages. They preferred to completely destroy the forum rather than allow a Conservative a voice.

Redbaiter is a New Zealander who dreams of a Free Republic for his Pacific nation, and has spend many years fighting for liberty in the land of the Kiwi.

I think he's more than worthy of our support.

We should never forget our cousins in the Anglosphere.

The loudness and hate from the left is mild compared to what it will be after November 2nd.

If you think it’s nasty and dirty now just wait.

I don’t remember the incident, but it’s typical pf the fascists and all too common.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could unite internationally in our mutual cause.

Great blog. I’ve bookmarked it.

Good site and some good comments. Thanks for the post & link Ronbo.

FR had another Kiwi(New Zelander) who was a regular contributor, I do not right now remember his name, but I have not seen him around for a while. Like to hook these 2 up.

I don’t doubt that for one minute!

BTW, Five years ago on my blog, I predicted a civil war between the Right and Left.

If recall correctly, my words were, “When the Right becomes radicalized as a result of economic hard times created by the Left, a Second U.S. Civil War is very likely.”

That time has come.

2010 is 1860 replayed with a different cast and script.

The real “fun” will start in 1861...err..2011.

I have the same plan in mind (I’m sure others do too) of linking RW blogs world wide, but especially in the Anglosphere.

An international “Committees of Correspondence” in which we plot the overthrow of socialism in our various nations.

America will never be safe until socialism is destroyed on a global basis.

In 1957, I was a freshman at Columbia, fresh out of Texas. I volunteered to work on a committee of the student government and to my surprise was immediately put in charge of a program for a speaker who was booked.

I was naive. No one else wanted to chair the meeting because it brought a famous FBI informant who had infiltrated the Communist party to the campus.

I expected a interested audience who would be at least respectul to the speaker and allow him to express his opinion, followed by an orderly Q&A session. After all, the motto of the College at the time was “Man’s Right to Knowledge and the Free Use Thereof.”

I was totally unprepared for the ways of the left in the audience. It went beyond heckling and into a rush for the stage and some scuffling (not too bad since most of them were typical nerdy types).

Despite my repeated pleas for order and to give the speaker the courtesy of listening to his talk, the meeting was totally disrupted by the leftists and the speaker had to leave without completing his speech.

So much for free speech and open discussion of opposing views. It was the early beginning of my understanding of the absolute intolerance of the left for any other view but their own—and their willingness to shut down the free speech guaranteed by the Constitution to all.

Perhaps the Juan Williams incident will open the eyes of some ‘progressives’ but you can bet that many will turn their eyes away and make excuses.

I went to Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida after I retired from the Army in 1984 for two semesters to finish off the B.A. in History I started while on active duty with the University of Maryland.

I was shocked at the leftward tilt - shall we say neo-Communist orientation? - of most of the professors and decided to do something about it by making friends with the college ROTC people and the college Republicans.

Knowing well how conservative speakers at Rollins were treated - for instance, in the late 1960s William F. Buckley had been the target of rotten eggs when he came to speak at Rollins - I mobilized the cadets and the college Republicans for some paybacks when Abby Hoffman came to give a speech there in the fall of 1984.

Our first action was to buy up all the tickets available (at $3,00 each it wasn’t that expensive when we divided the price between 100 conservatives and myself)....

So old Abby came to give his routine anti-American speech, but he went into an lion’s den of about 100 conservative students well equipped with large American flags and at least half decked out in Army Green Combat fatigues with spit shined black boots.

We gave him the treatment and our revenge was sweet! Every time he tried to speak, we would counter by singing a patriot song like, “The Battle Hymm of the Republic” or “God Bless America” while waving our flags.

After about 20 minutes Hoffman stormed out some said with tears in eyes into a pouring rain, the Rollins College cops showed up and ordered us out of the auditorium, which was named, believe it or not, “The Hoffman Center.” :-)

The ending? As you guessed, the Leftist college regime was shocked, YES SHOCKED! their student ROTC cadets and Republicans would keep poor Mr. Hoffman from trashing America! How reactionary! Something must be DONE!

Of course, I was quickly I.D.ed as the radical behind the affair and called into the office of his Highness the Dean.

I immediately took the offensive in my best sergeantese and said that Hoffman wasn’t the only one in the country who had First Amendment rights, the cadet corps at Rollins had the same rights and expressed them to Mr. Hoffman.

Furthermore, if any disciplinary action was taken against me or any member of the Army ROTC unit or the college Republicans at Rollins, I would personally see to it that the Russian Language program (well funded by the Department of Defense) be canceled immediately. Yes, a bluff, but how was the Dean to know? I was a retired NCO and might have connections with the Pentagon.

Then I shouted, “Do you have any further questions, SIR?

“No.” whispered the Dean looking very afraid.

Final Score: Rollins - 0, U.S. Army 1.

When you think of how many of these wimpy leftists think they are so intelligent that they can make decisions on national security issues without any experience beyond their isolation in ivory towers, it makes me sick.

Sounds good to me!

There has been a Socialist International for decades.

Turnabout is fair play.

I know bloggers in several different English speaking countries and the idea has got notice.

This may seem like an odd thought to you and others, but I often wonder if the reason it’s so easy for the left to oranize and so difficult for conservatgives to organize is that, inherently, members of the left believe in dependency on others while conservatives very pointedly don’t. It is not our nature to rely on others or seek assistance. That, I think, makes it difficult for us to organize. It goes against our grain instinctively. Not so with the left where parasitism is instinctual.

I guess that’s why getting the TP movement into some kind of structure is virtually impossible, lol. We all just go off on our own merry way! :)
