Long story, short...the left has ALWAYS been about population control.

Abortion, Eugenics or controlling food production is just a few of the many tools the left use to reduce the herd.

well they do have a point feeding the homeless just enables their lifestyle and frees up what resources they have drugs and booze. I don’t take the states side here if someone wants to feel like a good liberal/christian/altruist and buy a homeless guy a sandwich or give them ten bucks for food (which is spent on vodka) than thats their bussiness.

Food rationing worked in England during WWII. There would have to be a similarly patriotic rationale for a free people to accept any form of mandatory food distribution.

Of course, the current generation has moved away from the simple pleasure and purpose of vegetable gardens, much less raising a few hens for eggs & meat.

I vaguely remember a Victory Garden revival under Jimmy Carter or was it Gerald Ford?

There is one liberal family in St. Paul who are friends, and we do find many areas of commons ground. One is that the best charity is that which is private, voluntary, and actually helps people. This is much superior to the faceless bureaucrat on a control trip, holding people down in order to justify his/her job. Organizations such as the Salvation Army have the biggest positive impact for each dollar.
This is all about control. And the bureaucrats in Los Angeles are being extremely heavy handed aobut this.

Your right. But if you take away the feedings it will only punish those who really need it. From there it wont stop. Next the state will want to regulate our kitchens as well. I got a friend of mine who was homeless on skid row for a few months. He gave me a lot of this info. He said its easier get food from feedings then the rescue missions which tend to be unsanitary and full of psychos and criminals.

I read that Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi actually want to make gardening illegal for ordinary people. Like I said its not about food its about control. At least during the last wars you could do that. But the liberals just want to make us starve.

Can’t call them liberals any more. They are marxists. They want to control every aspect of society and economics. They want complete control over who eats what. That will give them control to starve future Terri Schiavos and old people.

I disagree with your premise. The liberals are not out to deny food to the poor. They are out to take our incomes to give food, shelter, cellphones and ipods to the poor. And make us poor in the process.

H.R. 2749 and S 510 bills are the evidence that the left intends to do exactly what is stated to the U.S.

H.R. 2749 passed the house last year, but if you look at the markup in the senate it is evident that some in the senate understand. It is a horror of a bill that has not received the proper coverage in the news.

Throw into the list of examples the Ethiopian “famine”. While there was a drought in Ethiopia, much of the hunger was due to a forced relocation scheme by the Mengistu regime. The food that was raised by the feel good “We are the world” campaign sat on the docks and either rotted, or was sold on the black market elsewheres by Mengistu’s thugs. In other words, the famine was really a deliberate genocide campaign, patterned on Stalin’s programs - Mengistu was a Stalinist. I shocked a lot of people in 1988 when I said that the best way to end the Ethiopian famine would be a well placed sniper round.

Hard to believe we are actually thinking and typing these concerns....about our own government..!!!!!!

I hope in two years we will be able to look back and laugh.

If not, see you in the food stamp allocation line.

You are mistaken, Sir.

Forty years ago, the hard-core left (Bill Ayers et. al) were perfectly happy with the concept of sending one-eighth of the population of this country to the ovens.

Today, the 10:10 “No Pressure” outfit fantasizes over a Red Button of Death that will turn their opponents into pink mist.

They plan to kill any and all who oppose them.

Ghastly though that concept may be, it’s the inescapable truth.

'Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. - Ezekiel 16:49

Now I agree with you that the "poor" are often not really all that poor, and when they are it's generally their own fault, and that money given to them is often put to bad use, which is generally how they got to be poor in the first place.

But for those of us who give a rat's backside about Christianity, there's that verse in Ezekiel, and it won't go away.

Look at what 40+ years of Great Society programs have wrought - how many skinny poor people have you seen? But I’ve seen plenty of obese ones. I agree the greenie nutbars would like to kill off 90 percent of the population (as long as they are among the 10 percent that are spared). But the modern liberal wants a life of uniform, grey, bloated mediocrity where everyone is fed and housed but no one is happy.

Even that is being regulated. Despite the fact that in my city you ARE allowed to have up to 3 chickens and 3 rabbits we were forced (by city council) to get rid of our ONE chicken and ONE rabbit that were kept as pets.

The libs (marxists) will not starve the homeless and disabled, provided that they stay in line. The libs (marxists) will starve counter-revolutionaries as they have in the past.
