Analyze This, Sigmund: Your Great-Granddaughter Digs Child Sacrifice

Ah, civilization and its malcontents. So it turns out Emma Freud is the creative and marital partner of Richard Curtis, who wrote the blood-crazed terror video everyone's talking about -- an eco-fascist snuff fantasy that relishes publicly executing children for the sake of Gaia, now splattering on a computer screen near you.

Emma is the great-granddaughter of Dr. Sigmund Freud, who knew a thing or two about bloody primal urges. Freud described people as driven by thanatos, a death drive that yearns for destruction and violence, which is repressed by civilization. But even good old Siggy might have marveled at his descendant's unbound zest for human sacrifice -- all done in the name of social responsibility, of course.

The video, "No Pressure" (below), was produced by a British group called 10:10, which clamors for people to lower their carbon consumption by 10% in 2010 -- or else. Set in workaday England, "No Pressure" depicts with grim satisfaction the explosive destruction of guileless schoolchildren, office workers, athletes, and an actress who express reluctance to commit to the cause -- all at the hands of deceitful authority figures who assure them there's "no pressure" to conform.

As James Delingpole memorably puts it, "With No Pressure, the environmental movement has revealed the snarling, wicked, homicidal misanthropy beneath its cloak of gentle, bunny-hugging righteousness."

Or as Dr. Freud might put it, "That's some dream you got there."

Are you shocked to learn that Emma Freud and Richard Curtis are brazen hypocrites with a corpulent carbon footprint that includes four kids and three homes? But of course, it's your kids they want to sacrifice, not theirs (though someone might want to call Child Services on these two and make sure). Rest assured, the human sacrifice of you and yours will not disturb the compassionate couple as they enjoy their elegant townhouse in London and country estates in Suffolk and Oxfordshire.

Tellingly, Richard Curtis' screenplay commits serial slaughters in Britain's major institutions of the classroom, office, and sports field, but he couldn't be bothered to blow up grannies at church. Christianity is such a wan, silly thing in England these days -- why even take the trouble to destroy what's left? After all, the Church of England is doing a fine job of that on its own. In fact, its wildly bearded leader, Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, has already shambled over to Islam. Williams said it "seems inevitable" that shariah will be incorporated in British law and urged England to "face up to the fact" -- and then gave away the whole ball of wax, proclaiming that it's "a bit of a danger" to insist "there's one law for everybody."

Can anyone even imagine Archbishop Rowan Williams singing the once-iconic British hymn, "Onward, Christian Soldiers, marching as to war?" Oh, please. We're all multicultural, planet-cuddling, secular pacifists now -- especially the church.

But alas, when the laminate of Judeo-Christianity civilization wears out, that old death-driven paganism that Dr. Freud talked about comes creeping back. These days, it seems like Thanatos R Us. That's why the entire clueless smart set around Curtis and Freud failed to notice that the enthusiastic cinematic murders of innocents might not win the public to their cause.

Indeed, the British government and numerous corporate sponsors like SONY shelled out precious pounds for the video's production -- and, according to 10:10, "50+ film professionals and 40+ actors and extras ... gave their time and equipment to the film for free."

Such munificence! Such idealism! All for the great cause of the radical chic Left: forcing the West to commit suicide at gunpoint for the sake of the planet. You there, student, you're not worthy of your carbon footprint! Boom! You're gone! You there, office workers. You're all tools of carbon-promoting capitalism. Boom! You're gone! Athletes, artists, anyone who doesn't conform to our ideal of perfection -- gone, gone, gone! Technology -- gone! Children -- gone! The future -- gone!

The West today is caught in the perfect pincer move of the Left and Islam. Having abandoned the God of Abraham, who instructed us to abolish child sacrifice, the Left now wallows, with mounting frenzy, in its primal death-driven urges. As Yeats observed almost a century ago, "Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, the blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere the ceremony of innocence is drowned."

And when enough anarchy is loosed upon the world, expansionist Islam will be there, ready to impose order in the name of Allah. Islam is not reducing its carbon footprint; on the contrary, Muslims are busy breeding carbon-producing foot soldiers for Allah. Islam is not destroying its technology and wealth; it's co-opting and importing ours to build nuclear bombs and missiles and creating clever new instruments like shariah finance to control ever bigger chunks of our treasures.

And as our future and confidence shrinks, their faith positively booms. On the same London streets where Richard Curtis was staging his suicidal fantasies, Muslim demonstrators march with signs reading, "Islam Will Dominate The World; Freedom Can Go To Hell."

Yet despite the yearnings of the ruling class, regular people may not be willing to commit suicide just yet. "No Pressure" could prove to have been a watershed moment, when the mask of faux compassion dropped and the Left let us see their deepest dreams -- and irreversibly revealed the rot in their souls. Within hours of its release, the video was pulled after massive outraged protests. Now its makers are halfheartedly apologizing and making noises that they didn't mean it. But as Emma Freud's great-grandfather once said, "Dreams are often most profound when they seem the most crazy."

Talent Agent: That's ... uh ... that's some act you have there. What do you call it?"

Try that with my child and I’ll be leaving my carbon footprint all over peoples faces. Even suggesting harm to my child will get a response out of me that frankly, any sane person wants to avoid at all costs. I have a zero tolorance policy when it comes to the safety of my child. Mess with that and I’ll become the thing that even your worst nightmares fear.

So that's what Love Actually was really about ...
